The parcel is to be shipped between 2 metro cities. Want a reliable option and suggestions on how to go about it. Have never shipped large parcels, so not sure what to expect. There is no urgency, so normal delivery is okay and the contents are also not expensive, so no added insurance needed.
Also should I divide the parcel into more parts? Like 2-3 parcels of 8-10kgs each or 1 of 25kg?

Ah okay. I am looking for delivery service. I can go to the parcel office, that’s fine. But they need to deliver it to the address I share.
Try gati
I used to parcel goods between Mumbai to some Tier 1 and 2 Towns.. Mostly Via Traveling Services (Travels) They are Cheap compared to So called reputed couriers.. but do check their details both ways..

Indian post is not reliable. My friend wanted to send one watch plus some other items packed in a small box via Indian post. Post office guy said box will be delivered but no guarantee if item in the box will still be there upon delivery. It can be taken out during in-transit.

small parcel to very large i.e 15 kg .. all smooth .
Used India post registered parcel to ship some items from Rajasthan to Andhra Pradesh around 11kg and paid 200 change, delivered in 7 days, no damage noticed.
Bluedart
I've used bluedart for this, they charged roughly 1000 per box of 10kg (ground delivery), including pickup.
A single box of 25kg would be slightly cheaper, but it'll be better if you confirm it by phone from local bluedart office.
Go with India Post, it's reliable.
Thanks everyone. India post seems quite affordable from above comments, but private ones are going to cost around 100/kg. Might go with India post.
