A Youtuber mentioned that he got Redmi 3s battery to work in F1. Soldering necessary. Redmi 3s and 3 batteries can be interchanged without any soldering so perhaps Note 3 battery is another candidate. Official batteries for the two have now fallen down to their original prices.

There’s a TG user selling what he claims to be the original battery for Rs 1250. Folks in the official Poco F1 and PE group have reported satisfactory experiences. The fellow claims to supply to the service centers. Externally at least the battery appears identical to the original battery, manufactured by Everup in 2018. 6 months warranty valid in case of even swelling.

He is also selling Asus Zenphone Max Pro M1 battery for Rs 1050+.

With the original battery I was getting over 14 hours SoT in one go. Never really checked  it over say a 24 hour period though.

My Poco F1’s battery also started to swell from one side (even I’m not so heavy user), so purchased from Flipkart – Safa battery. Battery health was around 65% to 68%. Even after replacement got the same quality battery. Now I’m gonna return it also. Meanwhile found a video on YouTube claiming Flipkart seller selling Chinese battery instead of Original SAFA battery.

I got my battery replaced from Cashify. If you opt for Home Service, the cost is 1249/-.

Since I went to their store in Mira Road (Mumbai), I got a discount of 200/-. Cashify gives you discount if you opt for physical visit.

They replaced the battery in front of me. The battery seems good. I watched a movie of 2 hrs (half on mobile speakers and half on bluetooth earphones). The battery dropped from 63% to 36%

Have to drain the battery to 0% and charge it to 100% since today is the first day. Will post my review/experience after a few days

Rather than going to local shops or buying duplicate batteries online, I think Cashify seems like a better option. This is just my view, I am not associated with Cashify in any way.

Was it new battery or a used one ?

Review after 22 days of usage :

It takes 2.5 hrs to charge from 0 to 100%.

With a few hrs of youtube, web browsing, full day of Whatsapp, Telegram & continuous notifications from some or other app, I have 15-20% battery left. The only problem here seems the time taken for charging. I got the battery replaced twice because of the charging time of 2.5 hrs, but all of them had the same issue, so decided to keep it.

Now, its your decision to choose Cashify or not. Hope this would help someone.

About a month ago Xiaomi  finally reduced the price of the replacement battery for F1. It now costs a very reasonable Rs 1356 inclusive of all taxes, labour etc. Two  issues:  Sunwoda instead of Everup and the device has to be kept with the service center for 20 days. Availability is reportedly spotty.

Xiaomi has rolled back the exorbitant price hike across it’s entire smartphone lineup. Batteries for several models now cost less than half their original prices.

WOW ! this is awesome. However reduced prices are only for Xiaomi devices & Poco f1 still has the same price mentioned 4999+gst .. whereas a Redmi k20battery costs just 699+gst.  WTF 😡😡😬

I called my local Xiaomi service center and they not only have the battery in stock but there’s no requirement to keep the device with them for 20 days. Guess it varies from one city to the other.

still would suggest to buy from the telegram guy, the service centers restock from him, just jump the chain 😄

Benevolent Benevolent

Since my local service center stocks it so it’s the better option as I am not confident about replacing the battery myself. Don’t have the tools besides which is an additional expenditure. Local repair guys inspire zero confidence and again an additional Rs 200 or 300 I guess if not more. Also in the rare case replacement is required under warranty it’s much more convenient to have a local option.

If anyone have a source of replacement battery for Redmi Note 4, please do enlightenment me.

Rs 999 https://mobile.mi.com/in/service/sparepartspric...;

@mastervijay had bought from the TG source referenced above a couple of months ago but he wasn’t totally satisfied with the battery backup IIRC. Only about Rs 200 cheaper so it didn’t make much sense.

Now in Poco website the price has been updated to Rs 1999 which was the original value. Makes me wonder if the current Rs 799 price is a  temporary drop and might revert to the original price sometime later. Despite the battery degrading to 66% capacity I can still get it to comfortably last 30-50 hours with my use cases. I was planning to replace it in another 6 months or so. If they didn’t insist on retaining the original battery during replacement I would have bought one already.

Now Poco devices are also being listed in the Xiaomi website and Xiaomi Service+ app.

Got the battery replaced just now. Only Rs 1120. Rs 180 fitting charges instead of Rs 413. They returned the old battery as well. Looks like Everup and not Sunwoda. End date – 30th June. No need to install MIUI if using a custom ROM. @Rajk007

My battery health showing 63%. Not using battery bypass and I am on miui 11. Using it mainly as hotspot (for around 10 hours a day) and this is my primary device. So should I get battery replaced as I have no issue in keeping it for as long as it is not dead. Only minor issue is its volume key sometime over react (saw on internet and this issue is with many others, some gentle tap solves it). So should I get it replaced? I keep it on charging most of the time.

@noobDealer Finally got Axis Mobile, Pockets etc. working in crDroid. I use 2 accounts in case of the latter so the Island trick wouldn’t have sufficed.

A little too early to say with certainty but it looks like active drain in crDroid A12 is even lower than Awaken. Idle drain for the time being is much improved. I hadn’t expected A12 in this 4+ years old device to be this snappy. RAM usage is definitely lower than A11.

Battery is Sunwoda make and manufactured in February 2022. Some Mi service centers are still quoting Rs 1120/1356.

Please suggest battery replacement for redmi note 4, went to 2 service centres nearby they are saying the product has been discontinued

If might be stocked later. Could be months or over a year though. I don't understand why they would bother to reduce the list prices of the likes of Redmi 3s, Note 3, 4 etc when apparently they weren't in stock anywhere?

Do you mean the device runs without the battery completely removed? Some folks had mentioned the same but it seems a minor tweak was necessary.

Regarding the battery Xiaomi recently reduced the battery price to Rs 499 from Rs 999 (excluding GST and labour) but it does not seem to be in stock anywhere! Probably permanently discontinued.

I don't have any idea about third-party batteries but recently in the Havoc custom ROM group a fellow Indian had posted about getting pretty good results (8 hours SoT with over 20% left ) with a local battery(branding in Chinese ) bought for Rs 600. So it's possible to get a half-decent battery (longterm performance yet to be determined ) elsewhere but it's kind of a lottery. If bypass charging is enabled (with root) and especially temps. are taken care of even a semi-decent battery will pretty much last 4-5 years at least.

I flashed stock miui using edl and it works without battery (I was pleasantly surprised)

But I dont want to buy battery locally as almost every phone repair shop here is scammy

Already repaired motherboard but the mf broke my fp scanner and microphone..

So I have decided not to spend any further on this device..Software wise I did what i could..

Thanks @LIMBO

Amazon, Flipkart etc. seem to be no good in this regard. Earlier Nohon from Aliexpress used to be a good alternative but later even that garnered negative reviews. I guess if Mobatree is the best you can find go for it if the device is still useful. Like I mentioned earlier if you root and limit maximum charging (to say 60%) bypass charging kicks in. As long as the device is plugged in the battery is not burdened. That way even a half-decent one should last year's. Kenzo especially the 3GB variant handles A10/11 reasonably well. Plus there's hope of A12 ROMs. Nougat and MM however are the most battery friendly but app incompatibility is a big drawback.

P.S. I am a tad suspicious of the user reviews of the Mobatree battery. The option of 30 days return is good. Better to use a CC for payment. So that charge back is a possibility in case they deny return, if required, for whatever reason.
