Hello guys,
I want your opinion on how should I go ahead.
One of my relative is doing some crafting working and leaving in village.
It is hand made . I want to help them by selling their products so that they can get some good value of that. They make stuff for home decorations.
How should I do it ? Any idea.

Amazon? Paytm Mall?

Refer friends and family to buy stuff and then ask them to refer their friends,

If your products are upto mark you can get some sells.

This could be the starting point before going to amazon.

Tweet to Amazon India.
Or contact CC through app’s help section. They might help.
Maybe you need a business/selling account.

  • Keep a name for branding purpose.
  • Take pictures of few products. Also take few pictures when your relatives are making the handicrafts – these images will render personal touch. You can exclude face.
  • Create a Facebook & Instagram page & add few images daily to both these page.
  • Ask your friends & relatives to visit the pages.
  • Post in Facebook & Pinterest communities already connected to handicrafts.
  • Talk to e-commerce websites – both big ones & those dealing especially with handicrafts. Tie up with those offering reasonable terms.
  • Provide links to these e-commerce websites on all your Social media networks.

though not much direct idea of that.
for many of the glossy.. Made in India initiatives or the Saheli/ women’s SME initiatives.. the market/ frontage is basically captured by savvy, shrewd business minded people (i mean rich people).

thus building good matrices within that (Karigar thing) might be a long drawn peocess.
and unless long history/ good matrices are generated… Amazon simply manipulates people to buy advertising or EasyShip services (delivered by Amazon) or puts extreme’ish conditions for “buy box” and then of-course the allied costs and shrinkage (damages, stealing by Amazon, lootet buyers who might be doing mischief).
.
Thus the “helping grow” objective might well stretch long… unless of-course some word of mouth or tie-up for lightening deals or other kinds of promotions gives faster, timely traction to the business.
.
.
Instead of outright e-commerce platforms.. supplementing or initially trying for more organic growth via word of mouth might give better scalability snd flexibility to be in hold of things (if the people/ craftspersons aren’t pro business people).
.
Word of mouth as in.. whatsapp or social mefia statuses, messages or coaxing friends, family to spread the word around.
.
And some neat image or message based appeals or fliers/ pamphlets too might help.
(Like i myself slmost gave money to one typical milaap.com scam person. that site takes a kickback/ percent.. but lets o called needy persons connect with potential fonors via appeal pages/donation links on milaap site. but this one guy.. during mid 2020.. acting to have a collapsed catering business and appealing for money.. still used rather recent iphone models!.. it became clear when i tried logging in or entered his gmsil into forgot password.. google said.. verify the code sent to your iPhone so and so!!)
.
My point is.. a nice creative/banner/ watsapp status image or an heartfelt appeal (msybe a small slip sent with the purchased item) DOES create a psychological nudge.. nudges one to actually try help out.

Creating Social media accounts & pages is also free. Not much expertise required. He can post links of his social media pages on various social media groups connected with handicrafts for greater visibility.

All platforms including YouTube will increase products visibility.
