Suggestions Out - Hotness In !
Since a long time we wanted to solve the problem of identifying good deals for FPD without only relying on suggestions…
Suggestions had some inherent flaws as a system
a. Newbie might not easily get a suggestion
b. Groupism could easily translate into flawed deals getting suggested a lot
c. Admin / Mod teams high dependency only on suggestions as a parameter
and few more….
Over the last few weeks we were trying a different approach to look at deals called hotness (it was live for the admin team since 3 weeks)
Hotness factors the following things in its calculation
1. Vote ups / Downs
2. Number of Comments
3. Number of Views
4. Number of dimers clicking out
5. Number of times the deal added in channels
And for all these parameters certain weightage (this is the secret sauce) are given to come to a score….. this will help in quickly identifying good deals
can this system be gamed? Yes it can be gamed, but we feel much lesser than the current system….
So soon we will be getting rid of suggesting a deal as a feature
All you need to do is continuing, liking a deal if you feel it is really good…. sharing your view on the deal…. and adding to your channels
Basically continue doing what you are anways doing and enjoy the deals…. 
Hope this will help in removing our flaws a little and help great deals come on FPD much faster

The system does not eliminate the need of admin/mod team…

Bro! Dimers ( like @BigSanta @ishubhamsr & so on are very mischievous. They like Talkcharge deals which is now your certified rival site. Please make sure it doesn’t become FPD based on random likes. I hate Talkcharge

Not all sites are same…Mobik/talkcharge etc has many haters.So it get will more VD’s compared to VU’s

How are you going to analyze? There could be off topic/troll comments

Attractive titles gets many views but the content inside thread cannot be of same quality
4. Number of dimers clicking out

5. Number of times the deal added in channels
Till now most dimers getting pls vote & suggest my deal in PM’s..Now deal channel owners will be spamed

Still Newbie doesn’t get as many VU as senior dimer would get. Isn’t this still a flaw in this system??
Because VU is not the only factor anymore…. and it will keep on evolving as we move along…. so it will still be flawed … but less flawed (hopefully )
One thing More @anthrax.ut Still there is flaw in FP deal making System.
As it Totally depends on Mod/Admin to make Fp deal,But Something Mod/Admin’s Are Not Online Like happened in Past deal of Led Bulb.
& When They were Online The Deal went OOs after 40 Min And Made FP deal After It Gets OOS. So is it Worth To Post in Front Page When it’s oos???

Its a cost cutting measure of DD,saving 3 dimes per fpd 
,now it will cost just 21 dimes to DD for one fpd whereas previously it was 24 dimes,demonetisation effect(ppf rates cut,interest rates cut,now dimes rate cut)
Good decision.was thinkingabout newbies coz they gets very less attraction even though deal is good.

@gfbf69 – Answering ur question about fairness here to avoid unnecessary discussion there.
The question u need to ask is….was there ever a need to give those 3 or 7 dimes for jst suggesting a deal. All hard work is done by OP and only for suggesting one gets 3 or 7 dimes post FPD status.
why??..This is the biggest flaw..And ppl were using it to their advantage…. including me .. (no qualms in accepting it as if u give a flawed system to someone one will always try to make use of it to its own benefit) as some deals by default are FPDs and doesnt need any suggestions (like Amazon SVD, any recharge offers with min 10% discounts, Gvs at 15-20% discounts, add money offers). These deals will neways be FPDs even if no one suggests them else how will DD survive?
The ones that need a push for FPD – well I wld jst say..admin team (which is in reasonable count/number of ppl at helm of affairs) needs to be more watchful and focussed on newbie deals rather than seniors (to be cntd.)

I always rest (sleep) in peace….boss. Cos dimes are not the motivation for me….they r more to the ones who post deals than who suggest. The dimes are for some other purpose. What motivates me is the competing factor..the one to be the fastest, the one to do basic analysis and past comparison and still manage to suggest it first.

Really man! Everytime that I read or see Himalaya I sense like I have some previous birth connection over there. Always feel like running to summit, go naked and take a peaceful free-fall, leaving no attachments to anything or anyone. Amen!
@anthrax.ut @admin @MJ911 I, for one, surely think it’s a good move overall to remove the “Suggest FPD” option altogether. There was indeed a significant groupism on DD because of that feature and the issue of FPD-or-Not has always been a point of contention. Although the latter issue would prevail even now, but at least the first issue would hopefully be mitigated by this move.
With that said, you are removing one major “incentive” for general users (specially non-deal posters) to participate on the forum. I am referring to the 3-7 dimes one was getting for being the first suggester of a future FPD. What plans do you have, if any, to introduce a new incentive to replace the first-FPD-suggester incentive? The incentive doesn’t necessarily have to be dimes — you guys already know about and utilize other game theory standards.
We are working on that…. And will come up with something soon…. We will just to have to wait to stabilize the new release
can we have a another tab apart from Sort By: Hot & New for Only FPD’s Promoted in descending ie. top to bottom, latest to old. Basically the old homepage so tht we know which is the latest FPD.
Latest FPD will always display in the first slot (like before)

It would be nice if you go back to the previous system of awarding FPDs but enforce stricter rules to prevent sabotage
Or atleast give option to show only FPDs and non-FPDs ..
I mean some thing like checkboxes for FPDs & Others .. people who wish to view FPDs they can leverage this feature..

One should be able to distinguish FPD while scrolling down on Dashboard.
Abolish the Vu comments otherwise this is all waste. People Vu only to get karma and thus the thread is spammed.

Is it possible to keep hotness withon 100, hotness of 900+ for some threads i mean how should I make sense of this hotness.
Besides Temperature, I think they should also start another monitoring variable called Pressure.
