PaneerButter...

Hi Dimers,

Since I was thinking of purchasing a new AC and came to know about the new BEE Star rating.

Basically, Many older models from 2022 will be considered 4.5 stars instead of 5 stars.

So, It makes sense to buy a 2023 model or see ISEER Rating.

The ISEER rating >5 would still be considered a good 5-star AC.

Marketing gimmick. 2023 models will be 10-15% costlier than previous models.

That's not true. Last year I purchased Panasonic 1.5 Ton Inverter AC for 38.5K. Similar 2023 model is now being sold for 35K

Yesterday i was checking my older price list of 2 years back products like ac and refrigerator which i saved in excel file and i saw even those items are 15 to 20 % higher 😂

Forget about 2023 models

12000BTU = 1 tonne.

Apart from the baby's room, do you need it for any large room or for any that directly faces post noon sunlight?

The upfront costs to energy saving (electricity bill savings) do not really work out for huge (higher than 15000 BTU) inverter type HVAC solutions UNLESS one is regularly using it for 10-12 hour stretches non stop.
Also, depending on the technology
inverter type units are not as robust in quickly cooling the room or retaining optimal temperatures.
[I am not talking of highend/ overpriced inverter type split air-conditioners from the likes of Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Korean companies, O General. Those of-course have numerous sensors and other ways to efficiently cool quickly].

LG 5 star 2023 models have cooling capacity of 4600 watts only compared to 5250 watts of Daikin, 5200 watts of panasonic. Which means it just uses less watts as well as cools less to get 5 star effeciency. So avoid LG 5 star feom your short list. Go for Daikin / Panasonic. Lyodd is also good.

A room of 150 sq ft with 1.5 ton capacity with 4600+ watts can cool optimally, I guess. Someone needs to cross verify with electricity units consumed. The PCB and other stuff is of 5 years warranty from LG... I guess it will be ok. Again, any half cooked product if launched with the warranty period mentioned will only make losses for LG. Either 2023 model will work flawlessly or abruptly closed.

A bit overpriced, since apart from temperature regulation, they add too many cosmetic or other features to make them look valuable.

Otherwise these are fine.

Standaed risks apply.
Many animals or even certain people with medical condition ls, ailments might require certain humidity levels.
Humidifier use is necessitated at times.
Or in our homes, we can even manage by keeping some water in an open container.

This 'optimal humidity' point actually applies even for the cooling function actually.

I need a Split AC, inverter model.

Since usage will be high (more than 14 hrs per day), I am looking for 5 star rating.

Which one would you suggest?

I believe Voltas is better (parts/service supply due to large market share). Not sure of panasonic, godrej, etc. Any help?
