HDFC bank gives 10x rewards, 5x rewards on certain sales …

What do they give exactly ?

*Can someone decode it and simplify it with an example. *

What are the exact rewards we get ?

PS – I have kotak cc . But this question is for hdfc cards.

They mean 10x 5x reward points which can be used for booking flights and hotels, their value depend on card varient, some has 1RP =0.25 other has 1RP=1Rs.

Why not just tell 5 percent .. or1 percent. .. like that. Rp is confusing and they differ for each Bank..lol

Bcoz they want totconfuse fool in thinking 10x=10% or 10 times ; talking in percentage shud be the real math

But in case of 10x rewards points(currently only for hdfc diners and infinia) the to value is supposed to be 1rs making it 10%. But here they do not mention it is 10% because of the slab for accrual of reward points.( 4/5 rp for ₹150) this makes it around 30%. Also note that this extra reward points are only for high end variant cards(diners/infinia). For other hdfc cards its flat 5% cashback. Also they cannot say 1% cashback directly because, it never effectively works that way. For example, I have hdfc regalia first card(4rp per 150, 1rp =0.3) which makes it ₹1.2 for 150. Now if i convert this to % it should be 0.8%. does that mean I will get points worth ₹8 on transaction of 1000? No because you only get 24rp (because 150*6=900 and 100 remains so no reward points for those). So the value is ₹7.2. hence they do not use % here.

Yes , thats where dimers freind can help us with their exp.

The max possible percentage should be mentioned

And these all are tools , for ex simplyclick if purchased directly on amazon will get only 2.5% but if redirected from yono will get 7.5%

Of course one can always work it in wrong way and get nothing by recharging first amazon wallet 0%and then purchasing it thru it but thats not our goal

Our goal is workaround to get maximum benefit not minimum

That’s the goal. But mentionimg cashback in percentage is not always possible. The cards generally have a slab. The points are rewarded only on multiples of this slab. If we talk in percentage here, we are not helping our dimer friends. If I do a transaction of 75 I will not receive any reward points(4 points for 150) . And if we talk in percentage here we expect a cashback. Yeah I know it’s obvious for people to know that this will be the case but we must always be transparent at our deals so the fellow dimer can select the best offer my himself. Yes, we can mention about extra cashback when paid through yono/smartbuy and let them decide on what to select.

They want to confuse us, that’s why.

We Indians are fond of such so called extra benefit. Some people gets more happy with offer of Buy 1 Get 1 free instead of flat 60% off bcoz there is something free in 1st offer !! Also, many people are not used to with calculation of exact discount in % wise. So company’s take benefit of it. Like LIC is making fool with 10 times risk coverage ( people get False feel good factor that they have very huge life coverage), Bonus etc. terminology since decades.

1. Nothing is impossible , the word impossible if for the lazy ,retarded and the crooks

2. Percent means return amount per 100 spend . Further that can be clarified by per 50 spend or whatever so as to make COMPARE between one with 50 paisa/100rs and with 5x 10x , first define x then define 5x ,10 x

3. If the condition is so bad that fellow dimer are so mentally disabled and incompetent to describe it in terms of percentage which they perceive as impossible ;i in my own capacity promise to describe all card there features, and return clearly in terms of percentge by best use which i used/ reasearched into ; so that everyone can be befotted of it and corp too make consumer freid lynpolicy and fair competion;so everyone can be sure there is at least one dimer standing as wall between irony of crooks and savings of dimers ; i will make impossible possibe and bring the light of truth to the world

4. To begin with amex mrcc offer 3.5% return on every rs 50 spent

Are you in mathematics field? You do mind boggling calculations.

Thank you.. Have already applied for sbi simply click. Hope I get it.

That was simple calculation, my maths is in fact just avg. It is actually understanding credit card reward structure which is more difficult than doing maths calculation for calculating benefits.

I want to have HDFC Bank card just to avail HDFC Bank related offers on various platforms. I don’t have HDFC Bank account. What card should I get, suitable for <30k annual spend on that card ? (I want LFT HDFC card if possible).

Well based on your usage and no past relationship with the bank, I think you can opt for millennia debit card… This credit card has the following features -

5% cashback on smartbuy transactions

2.5% cashback on online spends

And 1% cashback on wallet reload and other spends…

The 2 things that I feel bad in this card is that for redemption against statement (only place where 1 cashpoint is 1rs ) you require minimum 2500 cashpoints… For redemption of more cashpoints, you’ll require it to be in multiples of 500(like 3000,3500 etc..) and
There is a minimum spend for availing 5% and 2.5% cashpoints which if not met, we do not even get the basic 1%(heard some people say so).

Well if you look at vouchers and reward points, you will think it is a nice card but when you check the reward point value on money-back credit card, it’s 1rp=0.20 which means for 150, you are getting only 0.40rs which is like 0.3%. millennia credit card on the other hand has reward points value as 1RP = 1Rs. That’s literally 1% almost 3 times the money back card value.. for online spends, money back card gives 2x reward points making it almost 0.6%(also 2x rp capped at 500/month) where as for millennia it is 2.5%. The only thing that money-back cc beats millennia cc is that you get 500 voucher for 50000 spends in a quarter. Also, I don’t think money back card provides rp for wallet reloads(which millennia cc does).

At the end it’s for you to choose… Rp value differs from card to card, analyse your spends, calculate approximate cashback and see which one suits you…

Thanks man! Since I’m beginner in HDFC World, can you help me with ‘base rate (/100/150)’ for Millennia Card vs Money Back Card.

I mean ? RP / 100₹ / 150₹ and 1RP = ? Paisa for both cards. And if any condition like Online / Offline spends, (if any), or any other TnC.

Also if any accelerated reward for specific category spends- like Grocery (my 90% online spend!).

Like SBI Credit Card it’s 1RP / 100₹. And 1RP = 0.25 Paisa, i.e 2.5% return.
But for Simply Click it’s 2.5% for Online / Simply Save it’s 2.5% for Offline spends.

I’m learning quickly !

For millennia credit card, the base reward rate is 1 rp per 100rs. The value of 1 rp is

Rs1 if redeemed against statement (minimum redemption 2500)
Rs 0.30 if redeemed for products/giftcards.

For money-back credit card, the base reward rate is 2 rps per rs150. The value of 1 rp is

0.20 if redeemed against bill statement (minimum redemption of 2500) points..
0.25 if redeemed for products/gift cards.

You mentioned that 90% of your spends are grocery spends.. if you order grocery online then millennia provides 2.5% Cashback for all online spends… But if the grocery purchase is via Amazon (and a minimum of 2000) then you can save upto 10% on millennia card(5% smartbuy cashback provided by the smartbuy portal and another 5% cashback from millennia cards) which is credited to your account in 90 days..

If you purchase grocery via flipkart, it is 6%(1% smartbuy and 5% millennia cc).

Please note that max capping of smartbuy cashback is 1000/month.

For offline spends and wallet reload, base rates are applicable for millennia cards.

For money back card, there is no reward points for wallet reload transaction but the base reward rate is applicable for offline purchases. But you’ll have milestone spends for this card. Spending 50000 in a quarter will allow you to redeem a 500rs voucher, max 2000 per year.
