Hi Guys,

Currently I am using 4 year old DIGISOL BG 4100NU single band, single antenna router for 40Mbps plan,
siblings using 3 laptop for study,
1 MI smart TV (720 HD) ,
1 Firestick in another TV (720-1080),
3 cellphone
2 echo device

My flat is 1100 sq.feet , 3 room , 1 hall. MI TV doesn’t get wifi signal properly in room. So I am planning to buy a new router.

Which one is best ? Tenda vs Tplink ? TP-Link Archer C20 AC 750 is giving for (Rs.1500) and TENDA AC5 AC1200 1167 (Rs.1600) in todays deal. Which should I buy?? I want mainly for better wifi range and 24×7 always ON mode without any heat issue. Reply soon……….. Or any router you guys will suggest. My current router is working fine, I switch off once in a week for 10minute, It never heats up. Should I upgrade or not ? Only MI TV in room is not getting wifi signal fully.

I had the same issue of poor connectivity in room tv…I had an old router too
I purchased tp link wifi extender and placed it in between and it works fine using it since 2 months
It worked well..having 50mbps plan
It gives 30 40 mbps inside the room as well.

Bro,

separate Repeater going to cost me Rs.1400 so its better I buy a new router for 1500-1600 and as repeater I will use my old digisol router.

A wifi repeater/extended will half your bandwidth, if you are ok with that you can take that option. But otherwise new gen routers with dual band should take care of your requirement. I use TP-Link Archer AC1200 and I’m satisfied with its range and performance.

Here’s my suggestion, once you get the new router, distribute the devices on the two frequencies, that way there will be less commotion on the channels

The TP-Link Archer AC1200 sounds like a good value for money with its long range wifi coverage feature.

Could you please confirm if the TP-Link Archer AC1200 router has

1) an option to restrict the download / upload bandwidth for the Guest network clients?

2) an option for scheduled restart?

Thanks.

You should get extender. Even if it drops 50% of speed you will still be able to watch and surf @ 20mbps…

Dont upgrade…..save the money 👍

Do a speed test on Mi TV..what kind of speeds you are getting…and what sort of OTT contents do you watch on it ?..if you are getting speeds upwards 5Mbps…U don’t need new router…such speeds are enough to watch 720p contents

I recently (6 months done) upgraded to fiber optic broadband (80mbps speed).

Finally it was time to say goodbye to my 9 years old TP Link router.

I bought TP-Link Archer A6 because the previous TP Link was so good however to my surprise it had disconnection issues.

The 2ghz band was pathetic and there were too many random disconnections (data would stop transmitting and it’d disconnect).

I tried changing bands/channels but it didn’t help. Also replaced it still same issue.

Finally I bought the Tenda AC10 (for me Tenda was a new band)

5 months gone with Tenda AC10 absolutely no issue is there.

Everything good

Hope it works like this and helps you make an informed decision smile

My old TP LINK had also disconnection issue, so I bought digisol single band. But my siblings are studying online classes, thats why I was planning to buy dual band router.

So u suggested TENDA AC10 but this is Rs.3000+ and my budget is strictly to Rs.1500. So I hope TENDA AC5 would be sufficient for my uses, my internet plan is 40Mbps (i.e: Firestick, MI TV, online classes )
