TL;DR - If you are looking for an excuse to go catch a movie in a theatre, this is a fine movie. You won't say it is "awesome" but you probably won't say it is "average". It is between the two. Just note that there is no humour at all. It is serious yet well-done suspense thriller which keeps one guessing right till the end.

Long Version -
This comes from Hansal Mehta who has directed Rajkumar Rao in Shahid, Omerta and Manoj Baypayee in Aligarh and, of course, Pratik Gandhi in Scam 1992 - everything that I have thoroughly enjoyed. So, I just needed an excuse to watch this movie and I didn't come back disappointed at all. Yes, it wasn't the most sensational suspense thriller I have seen but to keep me guessing right till the end was getting my money worth.

The cast was interesting. I generally like Kareena Kapoor (No, I didn't watch "Crew" because that was a little too filmy for my liking) and I especially enjoy her mature / heavier roles in Udta Punjab, Lal Singh Chaddha. She does not disappoint here and her raw looks and expressions were spot on. Ranveer Brar as a violence-leaning Punjabi in UK was a surprise. He's got acting chops and a good screen presence. There is a lot of supporting cast who play their roles quite well. Most of them are locals from UK who speak in English with a British accent. Thus, the movie has been released in 2 languages - Hinglish (original which has a lot of English dialogues) and Hindi (dubbed).

In typical Hansal Mehta fashion, the movie touches some real life events, raw nerves and controversial themes around communal violence and looking at crimes from a religious perspective among others. Neither does it exaggerate anything nor does not it ever seem to take sides. It tends to just show things the way they are. That's why I said there is some serious drama in the movie.

It is also almost funny how you will keep guessing the wrong culprit right till the end of the movie. The movie run time of well under 2 hrs is a plus. It makes it for a crisp move-watching experience.

Thanks.
Would be great if you cover chikdren's films or light films too.
I had an opportunity to accompany some kids to watch the sequel of 'Inside Out'.
The kids made it an wholesome experience as it was one of those moving seats and speakers close by with animatronics in the seat.

I was entering a movie theatre after 7½-8 years and even i liked the creative choices they made.
But being a children's film or perhaps because it was not marketed that much

hence did not read much about in the trade magzines, portals.

Hollywood movies have way too many reviews and you can always rely on them.

Was there a LGBTQ angle? I strictly don't like any of those.

Kareena Kapoor requested that we not watch movies. so I ask everyone to respect her decision, and not to watch movies. Also, her acting is quite poor, and she can't carry the whole movie alone on her shoulder.

I am sure she said that in a different context. Her acting is poor? Have you watched Jab We Met? Her performance there leaves Shahid Kapoor's main role feel like a side role! She's a nepo-kid alright but she has the talent too unlike many who don't.
