hello dimers… I bought the jiophone at the end of december, 2018 year. while purchasing jiophone, i asked the seller to provide only jiophone handset. i already have jio sim. so, no need new sim. but, seller declined to sell jiophone without jio sim, as he can’t do it due to jio’s t&c.

i took the jiophone during the time of monsoon offer (old phone exchange offer) i gave my old nokia feature phone & charger and took jiophone. under monsoon offer, i got 500mb/day free data for 6months. i enjoyed the offer for 6 months completely. after 6 months, the offer has been expired. so, i removed the new jio sim from jiophone and inserted exist jio sim.

i stopped using that jio sim came with jiophone since july 2019. i didn’t recharged it with atleast 10Rs topup till now.

today evening, i remembered that. my smartphone’s 2nd sim slot is empty too. i inserted that into my smartphone and surprised! it is still working!

incoming calls & sms are working fine. outgoing calls & sms are not working as this jio sim don’t have any active plan currently.

and, i didn’t receive sms messages like “recharge urgent, grace period is near to end” stuck_out_tongue
only i received intenet configuration settings.

thats it guys… i thought that jio sim was blocked due to no recharge and no usage. but i was wrong. it is still working.

this thing reminds me “mummy” movie. in the same way, the egyptian mummy, buried in antiquity, has come back to alive stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

It seems that sims issued months/year back & in certain areas/regions are being kept alive by service providers even without any recharge for months.A relative of my friend got an airtel sim years ago which he recharges may be once in 6 months & it still keeps working(no outgoing though).

Jio sim doesn’t easily stopped working and one of the main reason is because jio used to provide free internet for few days sometime before, which was considered as a internet plans.

My Last Recharge On One Of My Jio Was In May 2018 And Its Still Active Without Any Single Recharge Or Deduction. I Am Able To Receive Calls/Sms Without Any Issue.
I Think As Of Now, They Need BIG Numbers And Few Yrs Later They Will Start Deactivating Numbers.

One of my unrecharged Jio sims which I had kept in my desk was deactivated last year after no usage or recharge for over a year. Jio probably deactivates only if they deem your area to be overpopulated and stressed on their network.

On the other hand, one of my unused and unrecharged Airtel sims is still active even after 2 years.
