There are some people who are doing for 500/600 with guarantee etc
Even I got it done on secondary(family) accounts so far good
It seems to be from Airtel postpaid offer they are doing

Friends,
My Amazon Prime membership expired in 1st week of December. I have been a prime member from the time they introduced in India but after an incident of purchasing a expensive Sony Headphones (XM4) which came with a cheap, used Boat headphones – the return was such messy and the replacement was more embarrassment with a cheap Chinese headphones. I had to spend several months (calls, emails, etc) to get my money back and even now occasionally get calls saying they are still investigating the issue (I have shared videos of both unboxing from Amazon package).
I do like the convenience of Prime for quick deliveries but over time (apart from the negative incident above) I feel prices are higher (even after discounts) and many fakes ones. Wondering if 999 is even worth!
Said all of the above, I still feel the older 750 or so was the fair price.
Need thoughts from you, what is the cheapest way to renew the Amazon Prime membership Annually?

No cheap way anymore. They are paying 80-100 crores to an has-been bollywood actress using our money. That’s why everything costs more.
They will pay more to old washed up actors next and hike prices again.
You need to weigh the pro and cons and come to a decision. I’m a Prime customer and also use Prime Video and Prime Music a lot. With Prime reading I also read comic books on my iPad. I usually order maybe 1-2 times a month and it’s more for the convenience rather than discount .Overall for me it’s worth it.
Don’t subscribe to Prime now. If most people don’t renew, they will reduce the price in a few weeks.
It’s not worth Rs. 1500 for a year.

“Since the launch 5 years ago in India, Prime has continued to increase the value it offers members.”
Although useless to most but it still holds true.
I highly doubt they’ll reduce it.
Disney and Netflix are also same or expensive.
Plus Amazon is very aggressively spending on primevideo acquiring good studio and franchises.

What do you mean with guarantee?
Prime is worth it just because of the OTT in my opinion

Till December 12th, 2021 one can still get it for approximately ₹499 directly from Amazon, I suppose.

Purchasing it via third parties or getting it conplimentary (from third parties; say BSNL, VI, Airtel)
runs the risk of loosing out on complete Prime benefits.
For example, no Amazon associate would be able to manage the Prime membership, if it isn’t directly purchased from the same account (even if with a discount code).
One scenario when Amazon agents do that is if there was some package arriving with a GDD (Guaranteed Delivery Date) but the delivery is not done by 1800 hours (in case of address being tagged as ‘commercial’ premises) or by 2100 hours (if shipping address type is ‘residential’).
In case of missed on-time deliveries for packages (shipments) with GDD, the standard operating procedure is to extend the Prime membership by 30 calender days.
(Of-course often it gets subjective, depending on circumstances and the person at the other end).
But if the Prime membership is not bought from the same account, received complimentary from a third-party; then the agents cannot take any such actions on the membership even by creating an ‘exception’ in the system.
Their tool would not present them with aby such option at all.
So yeah, Rs. 499 looks good. And by chance if you can accumulate Amazon Pay balance itself at some discount or get some bank/card offers while paying ₹999 upfront, then one can still get
One Year Amazon Prime membership at less than 499INR
https://www.amazon.in/gp/prime/pipeline/youngadult
Step 1
Purchase one year of Prime subscription at ₹999
using any pre-paid method like any credit/debit cards, net banking or other electronic payment methods.
Step 2
Verify the age
By submitting a photo identity proof and a selfie.
[For this the name on the account can temporarily be changed, to match the name of the person whose identification documents are submitted later. Assuming that the said person is not you.
For example if you are using the documents of your friend or relative, then just for simplicity sake; you can put the exact same name on your Amazon account for a few days or for a few weeks. Although I am quite certain that it isn’t needed even for getting the cash-back.]
Step 3
Get ₹500 Amazon Pay cashback
Instantly upon successful age verification
https://www.amazon.in/gp/prime/pipeline/youngadult
I disclaim any guarantees of this offer working, nor am I promising that above terms would remain in effect during the entirety of anyone availing the offer.
One is expected to exercise their own discretion and do the checks on their own.

I wasn’t aware of Prime reading – thanks for letting me know.
Update: Went ahead and renewed Prime for another year. Got a 1k GV from HDFC Smartbuy to get a little discount (I know it isn’t much).
Paying for something is a very strange, painful concept in India. Especially when it comes to paying to watch something that is delivered over-the-air, be it music or video.

I don’t use Prime Video / Music that much – maybe once a month or two max. Primary usage is for Amz fulfilled delivery but of late – prices are high or quality is bad. FK does it for almost free.
Then there are so many hyper delivery apps for essentials like Dunzo, Swiggy Instamart, BlinkIt, etc.
