Option A :
2 nights pattaya + 2 nighhts phuket + 2 nights krabi
But in this case you will just go at phuket and krabi to touch that city. Nothing much cab be explored
You will pass ur time in checkin and checkout
And journey between krabi phuket, which will cost high

Option B:
2nights pattaya + 3 nights Phuket + 1 night Bangkok
In this case you can drop Krabi – but over all journey wont be hectik

Option C:
3 Nights pattaya & 3 Nights Phuket
For a family trip, this is best.

you need night stay at bangkok only if you want to visit Safari.
Nothing much there….

With wife better better go to phuket only. Avoid pattaya. Bangkok n crabi is upto you on how much hectic you want & what places are priority.
tripadvisor is your friend. Check things to do for each place separately there and then decide.

Coral Island at Pattaya is best compared to other sights…….

hence, if you drop pattaya, will miss that.

Islands around phuket and krabi are also good, but Pattaya coral island is better

I would plan 4 days to Phuket and 3 days at Bangkok. And plan to fly direct to Phuket and return from Bangkok. I think go air now offers direct flt to Phuket.
Phuket you can enjoy a nice beach holiday. Visit the close by islands phi phi and James Bond island which are day trips and include snorkeling and lunch. Can be booked locally from any tourist shop when you reach there. Also there is a very nice show called fantasea in Phuket which will take up one evening. Look it up on Google. Plan to stay close to patong beach.
On the way back stop at Bangkok so that your spouse can enjoy some shopping too. That’s a part of the Thai experience. Also there are enough things to do in Bangkok too.
Once your bags are heavy you can take your flt back and there are lots of options for return flts from bkk depending on your check out time from your hotel.

If the James Bond island is closed, then 3 days should be sufficient in Phuket.

We stayed in The Royal Paradise Hotel & Spa near Patong beach and Bangla night market.

There are many shops all over the Phuket from where you can buy day tour packages.

I have not been to Bangkok or Krabi or Pattaya, so can’t comment on those places.

For suggested itineraries you can check triphobo

Better to take onward flight to city A (like Bangkok) and return from Phuket. That ways, you don’t have to travel back to same location just because of return flight
