Five dead on Titan sub were 'true explorers' - OceanGate
The five people who died on the Titan submersible were "true explorers", the company who operated the dive has said.
The men "shared a distinct spirit of adventure," said OceanGate in a statement.
The five died in what the US Coast Guard believes was a catastrophic implosion.
Parts of the submersible were found on Thursday, approximately 1,600ft (487m) from the bow of the Titanic wreck. It had disappeared on Sunday.
The men on board the sub included Stockton Rush, the 61-year-old CEO of OceanGate, British-Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Suleman, 19, and British businessman Hamish Harding, 58.
The fifth man on board, Paul-Henry Nargeolet, was a 77-year-old former French navy diver and renowned explorer.

The customers may have been true explorers, but the company oceangate is a true capitalist corporate, which did not even bother to fix error having dangerous risks. And instead fired its employee who wanted to reduce the risk.

"i didn't want to hire any boring 50year old white guys to design the submersible."

Yes, they were using a video game controller to control the sub.
Also, James Cameron broke the news that the US Navy crews heard the sound of the implosion when they are monitoring the ocean. My concern is why they've wasted so many days trying to rescue them?

Sorry for the wrong reaction (emoji),it got selected accidentally. It's a tragic incident and our heart goes with the families of the victims.
Look at the effect, the TITAN share is down.

OceanGate CEO refused to hire Ex-military submariners calling them "50 years old White guys" who were not "inspirational".Some of those "White guys" were related to safety and risk assessments.
"White guy" David Lockridge who was the Director of Marine Operations for the Titan project and whose role was overseeing safety on the vessel was fired for expressing concerns about the Titan's safety and asking for carrying out more hull testing.
