TNEB electricy meter defective... unfair assesment and overcharging

me being a mariner is 6 months in ship and 3 months at home and with tneb’s weird charging, normal power charge when i am at home is 4k-6k and when at sea it ranges from 600rs to 1000rs. now i am at sea and because of defective meter they have calculated the past few months’(the period where i was at home) eb charges and put the average, which comes to 4000 when in no way the power consumption has crossed even 1000rs. also doubting the previous month’s consumption saying it was defective then too , they have added 2000rs extra for november too (original bill was 1100,which is the actual usage) . when asked they say this is how they calculate . i even complained in the tneb online payment portal with no use.

Bro already the electricity charges in Tamil nadu is probably cheapest in India

Go old school, visit their office and meet the officials there regarding this issue, also make a written complaint to them.

will try bro after i come back home. but i dont think that willbe fruitful, earlier similar incident happened for my father’s business connection and he couldn’t do anything and that too was a big amount.

WHAT IS F 6? No one E.B employees explain it. Average mean last year highest two months average this is your law (TNERC supply code under section 11(2) states that in case of a defunct meter, the quantity of the electricity supplied during the period in question should be determined by taking the average of the electricity supplied during the preceding four months). billing collected instead of last year two months reading average collected because of this double the amount billing and paid;e.x: 500 unit last year highest two months average .Rs. 1,130 instead of I am billings 975 units and Rs. 4,915 paid. . Defetive Meter is not Disconnected. This is not taken account next billing. Highest last year two months average 473 units Rs.1,100 instead of this last year highest two reading average I am billings 899 units .R.S 4,610( including more charges). Totally R.S. 9,525 Difference is Rs. 9,525 – 2,330= R.S 7,194 Extra amount is paid.

Normally current reading Units calculated By rounding. Example 10,20,30,40,50.
This is not follow in defective meter. They calculated Example 15,13.

Defective Meter find out 5/5/20 E.B. Employee. 26/5/20 complaint via net. Nearly at about 47 days Meter Replaced 12/7/20. (Tangedco should replace the meter within 30 days if it received a complaint from the consumer)

I am given compliant in by net in every billing so many times and written they are not care about this. No reply. In this what I am consumed units is find out in defective meter Please reply with this regard. Take necessary Action to refund the Amount. Find out What I am consumed units in Defective Meter.
