To create a FD at any bank, do you have to compulsorily open a savings a/c first?

Nowadays does any banks let you open an FD after completing KYC, but without opening a savings account first. Any info on this?

They have to open FD irrespective of SB a/c.

its better to open an SB acc with linked FD. AMB can be negotiated to zero & dont take debit card & disable sms alerts to avoid fees.
