Use Google Keep, works like a charm on desktop browsers & app, sync is better than Evernote & Apple Notes.
Only demerits is opens small box like pop up on desktop for data entry, no full screen. One note file cannot store more than 2-3 page of word document. Need to create multiple note files for long notes.

I use Google keep, browser based and Android app. You may also install chrome extension for saving current page bookmark and take notes.

This is by far the most simplistic note app with label tagging and colours for organizing your notes.
