uber payment with Amazon pay

I too had a similar situation around 1.5 years back, Uber support didn't help. Support just kept saying you should not have paid cash. I too had Driver's number and he used to pick up calls initially but didn't return the money. Stopped using Uber after that.

driver was telling it takes 2 weeks , don't know if he was telling the truth.
edit: first check with the driver , if he is a genuine nice guy , things will sort out for you.

That should not matter, when ride ends they will be shown that whether they need to collect cash or not.
Just raise a ticket in Uber app saying you paid cash to driver and they will refund your amount, no need to fight with driver.
Never pay in cash unless there is some option shown in uber for this. In any case, even if driver didn't receive the money & it gets refunded to your amazon acc few days later then this amt should be added next time you book any ride & at that time this amt will be credited to the driver I think.
You have paid cash to the driver which is not recorded. If the uber driver gives you back then all good. Otherwise forget your money. No matter of complaints can bring your money back unless the driver agrees or else you have proof you paid aslo in cash. In latter case also it will be a tussle. The simple solution is to call the driver and agree for a settlement.
pay..but the diver told that didn't receive the payment
Doesn't matter , you need not pay cash unless the app says you to do so. If the app says payment success means it success, simply say this to driver. No need to pay cash unless asked in app
nowadays this is pretty commen situation with ola/rapido/uber
they don't accept online payments within the app.. either pay cash or upi directly, otherwise we have to face many issues like ride cancellations, wasting of our time getting rides, arguing with drivers, etc
even if we apply any promocode to reduce the fare, they want the normal account which they usually get, even though app showing discounted price..
because nowadays there's too many drivers on these apps, so they think they can do anything they want...
missing those good old days where we can ride for free...
If you select online payment then even if payment fails, you do not need to pay the driver. Uber will pay the driver. And you cannot request another ride till you pay for the last ride’s failed transaction. So in every case when the payment is online, never give any cash. Uber will show to the driver that payment was done online and then you can pay to Uber if the transaction had failed.

I have paid to him through upi only.. So can show it as proof .
these are standard tactics now a days by many drivers. they try to fool people by saying payment not received. they know that non-regular riders would fall for the trick.
if you have selected any online payment method, incl UPI, in the app, just say thank you and confidently get down at the destination without even looking back to the driver. even if payment fails, uber would adjust at the time of next ride.
