Unable to add money to Paytm Wallet through credit card

While trying to add Money to Paytm wallet through credit card, getting error “Transaction Failed. Based on your usage pattern, your account is restricted to add money through credit card”. It is not a merchant account and I have not transferred money to bank account since almost an year or 2. Also, getting same error while buying Paytm gift voucher.
Any reason why this is happening? Any workaround?

you cant add money to wallet using CC
Try paying to someother person using CC it will work
Or do recharges etc using paytm post paid , then pay with CC it will work
Just wait for one or more days, you’ll be able to add.
happens with me all the time.
I use Amex MRCC to load 1000 4 times, it gives me same error on 3rd trx.
Thanks. I’m getting this error on all CC load transactions. Tried never-used-on-paytm CC also, but same error. Will try after few days as you suggested.
I use icici cc daily to add money to my paytm wallet..never face any problem
This is the error I’m getting.
It happens when your Paytm wallet balance has exceeded beyond what you have ever maintained earlier and when you have already used CC to add multiple times.
It allows loading again after a couple of days.
Loaded Paytm with code LUCKY100 using credit card & I won 100 cashback

Try setting up auto reload using credit card.

2 days back I added money to Paytm wallet for the
first time using credit card and today when I tried paying at a merchant via Paytm wallet it shows error as “you can only pay via upi”. anyone has any idea about this??
Why do we need Paytm if we can only pay via UPI? It defeats the purpose of having a digital wallet.
You can’t add real money to wallet directly from CC,
but you can pay directly to merchant like swiggy etc. from you CC.
