Sent port sms from my Jio postpaid number and got the following reply:

UPC cannot be generated for the reasons: (1)There are subsisting contractual obligations with your service provider. Please contact your service provider for further assistance.

I have negative balance in my postpaid account so there are no way any due is stopping me from getting UPC.

What could be the reason?

Even after seeing similar posts for Idea, Airtel too.. right here on DesiDime

and trying to dig deeper..
.. to date.. I have not been able to come to any 2-3 'confirmed' reason/s of operators doing so.

Although since it is postpaid and they often have some complimentary freebies (subscriptions) too

it might help to e-mail them.. or in the meantime.. break your head with some Haptik hired customer service associate, by dialing ☎️+9170188-99999📞.

For idea and airtel, upc can't be generated cause of data loan, just pay it(and don't use data) and try again within an hour

please can you add ↬[RESOLVED]↫ at the start of the title,
to make it easier to search by that keyword?
and
if a wiki could be added or the main comment updated,
then that too would help.

You must have more than 9 sims connection with your adhaar. Close unused sim first by visiting on tafcof. It will take around 3 moths.
