(SOLVED) Unable to purchase bike insurance using Amazon pay

My bike insurance expired 3 months ago and..
Today I tried to purchase bike insurance in Amazon (acko bike insurance) using my amazonpay balance.. but at the checkout the balance checkbox is greyed out and its asking me to pay entire amount using any other online method.
Did anyone tried acko from Amazon ? Is it by default disabled for this type of transaction or anything suspicious in my account ?
Also pls guide me to purchase bike insurance using Amazon pay balance.. (any insurer is ok) using any other website.
Thanks in advance
UPDATE: ITS SOLVED.. 👍
Finally its done on amazon website itself by adding sufficient balance in amazonpay wallet. I dont know why amazon has disabled partial payment mode for this service alone. Anyway thanks for all kind hearts !

I remember that once our insurance is expired then we have to renew it offline after verification of chassis number. If you had renewed it before due date then you could have done it online. Please check if any other online insurer doing it or that also throwing error.

Last year you bought from acko website or from Amazon website ?

I beleive you cannot renew expired policies using insurance option on Amazon. If you are keen on acko, try purchasing through acko directly. For what it’s worth it is better if you talk to acko’s care for renewal options. And also check if they have Amazon pay option on their website.

I renewed my existing policy through amazon using apay balance about 2 months back.

You cannot renew your policy through online when it’s expired.. but its only for renewal of current policy from current insurer.. !
But you can purchase new policy in online even after 6 months.. by providing previous policy details. (But you become ineligible to claim for 30 days from the date of new insurance)

@Grandmastervijay 🙂
Yes once policy lapses, either not possible to renew online. Or few insurers allow only very limited window. Like Oriental insurance allowed 15 days after lapsing or some like that

IFFCO tokio or some one allows any amount of time after expiry. Infact most does. The catch is they verify the vehicle and it’s condition physically. And it is always suggestable to get it verified before getting a policy issued. It will help a lot during any claims

You can use amazon pay balance on acko only when make the insurance from amazon app via acko. If you try to purchase directly on acko you will not be able to use amazon pay balance.

I have tried in amazon website only.. not in acko website.
After enquired with Amazon cc.. they told i need to maintain subsequent balance for paying full policy amount.. they’re not allowed for two modes of partial payment it seems !

Did you had enough money in Amazon pay balance ? And paid entire policy amount through only 1 payment mode , i.e amazon pay balance ?

Ok let me try to add amazon pay balance first and then complete the process.

Yes required for all bikes and scooters which has 75cc and above.
5years compulsory third party insurance rule was laid already.. check whether you have already paid if any, while purchasing your scooter.
Else you need to purchase it.. !

Yes required for scooty also. You can take acko default bike insurance from Amazon, better opt 3 years it’ll be beneficial

@mastervijay last month I renewed my bike insurance with acko in Amazon, i could use pay balance but I renewed before expiry. That’s the only difference.

3 years back, my bike insurance was expired. After 6 months of Expiry I could renew it online in icici Lombard by calling them. No acko at that time.

when i check my insurance invoice showing as below
Period of Insurance:
Own Damage- 16-Mar-2020 to 15-Mar-2021
Third Party- 16-Mar-2020 to 15-Mar-2025

Then you need not have to purchase insurance again.. !
But since you have purchased third party alone.. it won’t cover for own damage claims. It only avoids traffic penal charges.
If you need insurance claim for your bike (from any accident damage/theft/fire) you need to purchase comprehensive insurance again. Bcoz third party insurance will not cover your bike damage.
