so today morning i had received about failed biometric authentication two times on my email id . i didn’t initiate any biometric authentication on my Aadhar card . also i live in mumbai but on the mail it was mentioned tamil nadu something should i be concerned about this issue ? also i have locked my aadhar biometric after this incident now to prevent abuse of my aadhar card.

Good that you locked it, sounds to be a dumb typo error, someone must have used their number incorrectly and might have matched your number... and not something you need to immediately panic about, although good to always keep it locked.. Unlock it just when you need to use it and lock it again.

OP, It is a fraud.

You just escaped from the looting of your bank account connected to your aadhar.

Finger print is done using your finger print from your sale deeds or similar paper prints.

so today same thing happened but in my sisters aadhaar card number. the agency which attempted to do biometric authentication was the same “Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency, Government of Tamil Nadu” . but since i had locked all my family members aadhar biometric authentication it had failed .

weird issue has anyone faced such issue ? is tamil nadu gov trying to do some fraud using our aadhar details ? we have been living in maharashtra since childhood only our birthplace was tamil nadu

download authentication history from uidai website.
It shows all details of authentication attempts.
You can file RTI with uidai and Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency asking why these authentication attempts were made? who authorised? Authorisation proof detail.

That should solve lots of mysteries.
