Today I wrongly sent 2000 to a wrong UPI ID as the name showed correctly of the sender. I realized it afterwards when the original receiver did not get it. I requested back the money but still no response from the wrong receiver.
Any other solution to get the money back?

Send request for ₹2000 on that upi id. If any morality is left with that person, he would accept the request.
Already did that, but still the response is pending…
Ek baar teer kamaan ne nikal gaya to samjho gaya…
Is your issue solved ???
Nope. Not yet. No reply yet from both handles
You can raise query to the bank of which your handle is. they might get something in the direction of your query.
+1
One should attempt to get in touch with person behind that a/c or id..by seeking basic help from bank on locating the person formally citing the specific issue and supporting evidence (printouts) etc and do follow up…
Money once transferred to any a/c becomes ownership of that a/c holder, and then its upto his discretion.. Dispute may (should) be raised and pursued (through bank-and formally), but not clear/no data (that i hv seen) which way it will turn or what outcome is typically there in such a case escalated…?
Save his no. Check if he is on whatsapp. Send him an emotional msg, so that he feels guilty of keeping ur money. If he has some goodness left in him he’ll surely send ur money back.
If not on WhatsApp, search his number on facebook. Or u can even directly call him.
no number available. the upi id is his/her name… hence tried requesting money but no response… unable to track on facebook as it is a very generic name with initials and cannot be easily found
There was reversal option in bhim app, is that gone now?
AFAIK, i doubt that option was there in bhim or any upi app… once money sent to a bank acct, it is theirs, i guess, or am i wrong?
On complaining to bank. A bank employee may ask customer money directly & have in his own pocket.
Only option is consumer Court
Good news: The person who got the payment, called me, he is another bank employee so got hold of my mobile and called to ask why i sent 2000 and i explained the issue and the money is refunded back to me… thank god .
Otherwise it is not possible to get back the money if the receiver is not willing to return it, even banks cant do anything, this is the case for any type of wrong transfer..
if the amount is huge, then we can file a case….but that is cumbersome and tough if the person is in another city
Pleasure to hear that
Glad u rcvd..have safe and healthy txns
Reverse happened with me bro. I received a sum of Rs. 5250 with remarks printer-charges from someone thru UPI in my ICICI Acc. Then on noticing I refunded instantly to that upi address with remarks, I_dont_sel_prntrs. That person again sent me Rs.1 with remarks thanks, sir. I again returned Rs.1 with remark Stay Alert.
I advice people here to always send small amount to receiver first like Rs.10/100 etc. to check whether intended person receiving it and only then tfr desired amount.
If anything goes wrong. your bank can help you get details. No matter what remitting bank always have details of receiving bank and even address of account holder. If your bank not helping you, contact receiving bank.
How do you know , by looking at the upi address so as to where the funds are routing?
eg:
what is the bank for upi bhalla_here@ybl ?
btw i agree with that if your bank can help, anything can happen. (also, chargeback is your last resort)
any way to recieve the money back. In my case, amount is big. sent approx 15k to UPI handle. I dont know even how to contact the receiver
Just complain to bank in written format about what all happened they will revert you the money
This is an interesting topic.. From my own observations, banks would know everything.. Your statement shows who sent you the money and the remarks as well as the UPI or transaction ID which makes tracking it easy. I used freechange to move a little bit form my paytm to hdfc bank and it was stuck for 2 days in freecharge as pending and processing.. Suddenly it said transfer completed but actual transfer happend 2 days go.. But all info was missing so it was difficult to find it. But I went back to paytm and looked at original UPI transaction id and checked with HDFC deposit id and it matched.. Freecharge itself did not provide much traceable info maybe as a way to hide the details from the 2 users. Although the payments were stuck the dates ended up matching in the end even if it all showed up 2 days later.. Not sure how they adjust the dates like that. Although the sender had the data, the receiver had nothing until it was settled. All other UPI transactions were instant though so this was something new.
Any one help me I will send 2000 wrong UPI id
Same happened to me yesterday . I sent 1101 RS. To wrong person. The person is not accepting my request for RS 1101 now.
No way
Unlike mobile recharge there is no contact info of the receiver
Banks won’t be of much help
