Yes. Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Brazil, African countries, etc all need it. And Indian people want it so not available for Indian people. If all Indians want to have vaccine they should come to needy category from wanting category. Stupid people and intelligent government.

Now that the real numbers are/will be out, the available vaccine shots won’t be enough if they allow for 25+ (no exceptions).. then people will shout “Incompetent.. Incompetent” So.. changes have to be made accordingly smile
It is 4.3k (New cases) for Bengaluru Urban today

Whole of Karnataka’s new cases are 5279 then how only Bengaluru Urban got 4.3k?

That’s how it is
Same situation last year too
Probably Bengaluru urban being the IT Hub is the Prime reason. Also even in urban district, select regions are badly affected and some have very less casualties

What Corona has to do with some city being IT hub or not? Corona isn’t a software engineer. And I guess most of them in Bengaluru are working from home since last year. School colleges are closed. Then whether IT hub or not, doesn’t matter.
Problem is people and the government have become casual regarding Corona preventive behaviour. Otherwise Chhattisgarh, a state with around twice the population of Bengaluru and 200 times area, wouldn’t have 10k cases in past 24 hours, as it don’t have any metro or big city or any kind of hub city.

Corona is spreading in some parts because of 2 major reasons – one, stupid people and two, incapable useless governments.

And at some places its getting out of stock. What a sad state of affairs. People, and young people are dying of Corona and we are showing our id cards to prove that our age is as per the eligibility time table by government for vaccination.

Sorry for poking here.

I do agree with the reasons you mentioned.

A few things to clarify:

  • Many may be WFH, but most offices resumed operations with reduced work force. There are some jobs which definitely needs office access.
  • Even if everyone is WFH, people still roam around for groceries/fun/etc
  • And then there are huge apartments, where some or other functions are conducted and a few are found to be covid clusters

Bro that was a comparison between places. In other places even more activities are going on and cases are proportionally lesser in contrast. My point of contention was, it’s not the activities but behaviour of people and Governments towards the pandemic which is responsible for the situation, whether good or bad as per the concerned place.

In Chhattisgarh for instance, the state government held Road safety cricket league with 6 or 7 teams of international players from 7th March to 21st March when daily cases were coming in 3 digits. Now on 6th April 9921 cases came in 24 hrs.

Agree. I will attribute this insensibility mostly to people. What if the government organizes a event, is it mandated that we should attend?

IT Hub >> More Population >> More Residential Apartments & Schools
While there are 32K+ active cases in Bengaluru urban, the number is just 800 in Bengaluru Rural (Its a minutes ride from select urban places)

If i remember correctly, these high rise apartments were the initial source of second wave (Feb 2021). That too people didn’t go n get them tested .. it was BBMP that was randomly picking apartments n conducting COVID tests. The source of infection could be multiple people or just one person (Same is the case with many Schools & other educational institutions that ended up as COVID clusters)

More than governments, its the people that are responsible for second wave, they started assuming that COVID doesn’t exist anymore (based on active cases) and they are everywhere. Some w/o masks and some w/ these cotton masks just to get entry into malls and supermarkets. Last year, bengaluru was considered as a role model (in effectively controlling COVID infection).. even P entities started mocking places like Maharashtra and Delhi using Bengaluru but we all know what happened when the government lifted restrictions on public movement (May 2nd week?). At some point in a month or so.. Bengaluru Urban topped the stats in new cases/day in India

Governments (any state) started adding more restrictions only in the past week or so (nothing before that). They were only interested in vaccines and motivating people to get them vaccinated (These vaccination centers could also be the reason for the surge). Even the police and other officials who used to effectively track the people, commercial establishments (flouting COVID norms) and fine them.. they moved on with their lives & other tasks ( They lost control when the restrictions got lifted on public movement )

Check these public information portals (Karnataka) which were actively creating awareness (COVID, masks & other precautions last year)
https://twitter.com/PIBBen...ru
https://twitter.com/...KA
https://twitter.com/Karnatak...PR
https://twitter.com/Home_Quar...ne

While some are only interested in stats w.r.t vaccines & drives.. some are inactive for months
Now they started talking about COVID & Awareness again (+ Fines for flouting rules)

The people which you are seeing in the image attending the match more than half of them, females, students, Govt employees, other particular sections of society and government were given free passes, free special buses to bring them to the stadium for every match and CM Saab himself promoted attending the matches so much so that he attended many matches and all the events pertaining to the Cricket tournament himself. So yes it was sort of mandated by the Government. Still you will blame the people only?

Regarding more actives with less case, there are many example. Since so much has been told about chhatisgarh here ( even more than all the media coverage combined of Chhattisgarh’s Corona blast in last 15 days ) let’s take it’s case only.

There was absolutely no restrictions on any activities be it functions, offices, industries, any public gathering or movement, etc till a week back (Even a 15 days cricket league was hosted by CG). Daily cases were less than 250 for the whole state till mid of March.
(Till this point more activity, very less cases)
But then the Govt held cricket league attended by minimum 25k people daily without any guidelines imposed on them. No mask no social distancing no vacant seats in the stadium. People transported in full buses by Govt.

There was no check on any entry point, be it bus stands, Railway stations, or airport. Not even mask or sanitizer  needed or provided at railway station to people coming from other state/places. Not even a simple checking of temperature was done for people arriving.

Health minister asked the CM to impose lockdown in the state when thousands of cases started coming from cities but CM said District Collectors will see this and himself went to Assam for election campaign.

Now night curfews, restrictions, lockdown imposed in few cities still thousands of cases coming despite very low testing by the govt.
(So now less activities and very high cases)

By your comment also it appears its the stupidity(or extra smartness) of the people and the inaction of the government due to which few states/cities are in a situation they didn’t want to be in.

People should be more responsible and sensible, no doubt.  But we don’t choose the government for them to expect the people to be more responsible and sit and enjoy the perks of being minister or MLA or MP.

They should guide, manage and motivate the people, who have become tired/demotivated to be more responsible/motivated to follow the Covid norms. Instead Government people themselves are flouting the Covid norms at many places.

Yes I will still blame people. Giving free pass or facilities isn’t a mandate in my opinion.

For instance I have lot many winpins/GVs that can be used on Bookmyshow, and some free petrol to burn effectively making my movie watch absolutely free except for the time I put away for it. But did I chose to watch the movies in theatres? Or did I encourage my friends/family by passing on those free stuff? I did not.

More activities with less cases meaning I’m interested in the information where activities took place, but still less number of covid positive cases, even (atleast a week) after the activities took place. I believe there are none.

So forget about freebies, you mean to say no one follows what the chief minister and other leaders of the state says or promotes?
Chief Minister and other leaders attend the match but the govt official will say no?

And you didn’t attend any party, family get together or met friends n family in the past few months?

If answer is yes then sadly people here are little different than you.
And also one thing is for sure not everyone has same level of fear, covid appropriate behaviour. Few will follow without any restrictions. But restrictions/rules are not for them, it’s for those who don’t follow or who may divert from proper behaviour.

I’m not saying not to follow the elected. All I’m saying is the common-sense should take over at some point.

If the covid preventive rules are flouted, one should think

And you didn’t attend any party, family get together or met friends n family in the past few months?

Recently we celebrated my daughter’s first birthday. None in the family are invited except two families who stay in the same village. Those two families are invited only because I know there are no cases in my village or they have any travel history. No relative/help from any neighboring place is allowed. In fact my father proposed to invite a few from the near by town, but I’m against the same. I’m ok with not celebrating at all, than invite trouble. And at some point we are supposed to hire a cook/help for treating the invited families. I’m against to this one as well, and shared some load by doing some dishes after the get together.

Bro my only point is that all the people don’t have equal level of understanding about the responsibilities and responsible behaviour. Those who have are not the problem but those who don’t have are the problem. That’s why I am saying that here the role of government comes into effect. You and me can’t instill common sense in these people. But if the government understands its responsibility by not organising stupid events, promoting proper behaviour for Corona prevention and making rules & enforcing them to prevent people from spreading the disease.

I don’t want the politics as well but the ruling govt cannot shy away from their responsibility no matter which party is in power. Even if I discount the steps not taken by the govt, we can’t ignore the acts of govt which lead to thousands n lakhs getting infected and thousands dead.
And guess what govt is hiding its deeds here. Govt says 31 died in my city in last week but 149 bodies of Corona infected were burnt in just 4 samshaans of the city.
