- Amaravati is the present capital of Andhra Pradesh
- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Tuesday, said that the state capital will be shifted to Visakhapatnam.
- He stated “I will also be shifting to Visakhapatnam in the months to come,” while addressing the preparatory meeting for the Global Investors Summit to be held in Visakhapatnam in March.
- “Here I am to invite you to Visakhapatnam, which will be our capital in the coming days. I myself would also be shifting to Visakhapatnam in the coming months,” he said.

It is not that easy to change the name of any capital
You have to first get it passed by andhra pradesh vidhan sabha then the governor will give its consent. Then further it will go to home ministry then it will be cross checked by law ministry whether the law was due followed or not then it will come to lok sabha n rajya sabha where it is required to get pass from them, then the last president'consent. It all depends on the government at the centre.... The state has very limited power it means the state cannot do it by itself

There was one guy in my College. He once told me he is from Vizag. I asked him which country? He said India only. I was said I never heard this name. He said Vishakapatnam is aka as Vizag. I was like 😐😐 South India ka apne ko jyada pata nahin hai 😅
