i have purchased vu 32D6545 from flipkart, on 14 Oct 2015

from past 10 days it is not working.

screen blank, if we check with mobile torch slightly visible.

recently i have given to vu service center, but they are saying as total panel is defective, it costs 8000. actual price of the tv was 14400.

i am feeling as 8000 is too much to repair that tv.

please give your opinion, it will useful to others for durability purpose.

brand wise ok, but sudden investment is making me bad on VU brand.

lots of tv baught by my friends and family members.

That’s what happened with our Sony Bravia TV. It worked for 4 years then one day it stopped working. Called customer care, they sent the technician who said the panel is faulty and it will cost 13k for the new panel.

I didn’t repair it and bought VU tv instead. It has been working fine from last 3 years.

I guess these things just work until they don’t. Sometimes these things work for decades and sometimes for a few years. At that time, it’s upto you what do you want to do. If you want to repair or buy a new tv. No other option. You can also get it repaired in local tv repair store for ~5-6k rs but the panel quality will not be as good as the original.

I would differ .. I bought VU 32 inch around 2014-15 and is still running great .. I did bought 3 yr extended warranty from.them in case .. I did used stabilizer ( Voltas ) and it may make difference sometime. .. so it may be just bad day .. but overall I am quite happy with VU and planning to buy one more for parents ..

i did this type of repair with desi Indian Jugaad …
u need to open your TV and then paste LED strips ( 2 horizontal and 2 vertical directions ) give them power supply with adapter using external source ..
and you will get to watch your tv working 90% smile

My uncle is a businessman in dealing tv and other electroic items, fron him I came to know that flat panels or say flat tv’s don’t have much life, and once panel stops working, it’s always good to buy complete new. The life of panel most of the time like 99 percent of time depends on usage, and it’s life is directly proportional to the time it is used regardless of what company it is.

Companies service centres are namesake.
They don’t want to repair,
if have to , they put exorbitant price tags on spare parts and service charges and customers are advised or they themselves are compelled  to buy a new one.
They are most interested in selling new product rather then repairing them.

I had similar issue with samsung tv. They asked me 8k for board replacement. I kept the tv unused for 4 days. After 4 days it worked automatically. When I checked it in YouTube it is related to some capacitor problem. Normally service center will ask you to replace the whole board. Please check YouTube similar issues might have reported and fix might be simple.

My iffalcon 65 inch TV has gone Kaput having worked for just 18 months. Same issue as mentioned above with no display but with flash light, can make out the image. Enquired with service center and they gave local service center no who quoted price of 38k for changing the panel (I bought for 45k after exchanging 50" Haier TV). Other option he gave was that he will take the TV for just 6k and his opinion is to go for new TV instead of repairing.

Regret not opting for extended warranty. However have a doubt, does extended warranty cover backlight/panel replacement? Can any one pls clarify for future use?

VU tv life is only 3 to 4 years only led back light problem local service 2000 rs ready

I am using VU 40 inch LED since 5yrs.
Recently faced the same LED Backlight issue.
Service centre guys said that they will charge 800 for visit and then repair charges will be different… When I researched online, I found that they will add up to the costs by replacing the whole board and so on. So I connected with a local TV repair guy whom I know since many years. He repaired my TV for 4k only including his charges and original genuine parts. He also gave me another option of local stripes which would have costed me around 2.8-3k. Same thing if I would have asked VU guys to do, they would have charged me atleast 8k (double of what I paid).
So if you have a trusted TV mechanic, get in touch with them rather than approaching the company.
Furthermore, LED stripes has a life of some years and it depends on our usage as well as voltage fluctuations, if any.

pls don’t buy VU TV after 3 year it’s back light going damaged and it’s repaired cost more than new TV cost. I have bought in 2018 and at 2021 same problem no picture showing after consulting customer care thye saying need 10000 for repair…

I bought vu 32 8 years before, still working with no problems. TV on atleast 6-7 hours a day

Vu led , poor quality , spolied only in 3 years just after the ending of extended warranty period of 1+2 = 3 years. Now it's repair cost is too much.
