Warning regarding amazon returns

Nowadays , make video recordings of Amazon returns too, along with unboxing videos, otherwise they refuse refunds by saying different item returned! 

My family and friend suffered such frauds on June this year. 

I placed order for uniball pens (I love these pens since school days but harder to find in offline stationary stores) along a shower gel. And nowadays, uniball sells different pens through online - poor, cheaper quality pens that are specifically marked on plastic wrap as "for online sale only"! Since no one can check on the spot. Mind you, you don't get a hefty discount either.

Out of a pack of 6, only 3 wrote well. Returned, got replacement and again same problem. Getting 3 working pens at the price of 420 is a heavy loss so returned again. Now after 5 days, amazon customer care says I returned a different item 🙄

The same delivery agent is also the pick up guy and working in my area for 5 years and had no problem with previous returns for the last 7-8 years. I let it go as I thought it was a genuine mistake.

Next - Bought a DK kids encyclopaedia and a philosophy book (both hardcover edition). Send me a cheaper Dreamland publisher's encyclopaedia and a philosophy book with damaged binding (I suspect damaged on transit as the geniuses sends every orders on plain paper bags with no cushioning).

Now replacement of encyclopaedia came but send a 2016 years old edition while the image was of a new one, now they changed it back to the correct old edition on webpage. The replacement philosophy book too came damaged. I returned it. Also when returning, the pick up guy will match the products on his cell phone before taking it back.

Now I'm told I returned different items. Again. So no refund. No amount of proof is working like telling to match the pick up guy's verification is working. I'm at a complete loss! In fact, I even got an email saying that my refund for the one of the book was initiated and claimed by two escalation team members and suddenly, one wise guy came and said he is starting "investigation" and cancelled refund.

I found jeff mail now from here so wrote an email regarding the whole fiasco and their own specialist team's inconsistencies but I found that this is a rising case from all amazon fulfilment centres. From clothes to shoes to tools to books orders.

Another is from my friend who bought a japanese sunscreen biore around Rs 1300 but got fake one. The packaging and bottle screams cheap and not at all looks like the genuine one.

Refused refund. Saying that is genuine. Like as if biore sells their global product taped with a cellotape in a plain blue cardboard 🙄

Sellers - Cocoblu retail, u-Read store, Katalysst.

Common link - All 3 amazon fulfilled centres.

Now I have previously bought many items from the first two stores, they did deliver genuine products, even the substandard uniball pens and this is the first time I had such terrible experience with return and packaging! 

Throughout the years, I and other family members did return/replacement a few items like clothes, bulbs, etc and didn't face any problems. Now its deliberately done. I saw same problems with other buyers and noticed that negative reviews increased a LOT. For eg. Check cocoblu retail's reviews. The negative reviews have increased to almost 25%! It wasn't this high at all at the start.

Finally, I conveyed my Amazon problems with others and just yesterday, my cousin returned a kid's stationary kit and a book bcz of quality issues and recorded the whole return/pick up process - from showing the return it's on phone to pick up guy confirming in phone images and taking the whole thing back. To no ones surprise, amazon customer care started their "iNVeStIGatiOn" and refused return after that. My cousin threatened them with video recording and got refund within 3 hours after that.

So remember, take video recordings from unboxing to returning (when things go south) even if it hurts the delivery/pick up guy's feelings as I know mine one isn't a thief but something fishy is going on in amazon fulfilment centres.

Best to let the pickup guy know why it's being done.

True, but I don’t understand one thing, if its different item, why delivery guy would take it? He would have rejected it right? Not sure whats Amazon’s problem expressionless

To no ones surprise, amazon customer care started their “iNVeStIGatiOn” and refused return after that. My cousin threatened them with video recording and got refund within 3 hours after that.

They won’t even check the unboxing videos (or other recordings).. why would they feel threatened? The only reason they issued refund in this case is because the concerned product is a stationery item, not a costly one

I've unboxing video for expensive product orders, any order above 900 and when asking for replacement, they ask for pics to upload. Those guys get those pics, not video though. But I'm flabbergasted that we now need returning video to prove innocence.

Total was 580-590 and yes, they did investigation for Rs 280 product.

Very True. I also had same experience.
Return was successful and got refund issued mail but even after 3 days refund was not in my apay balance. Contacted cc, they said refund is rejected as seller will first verify the item and release the refund. I was ok. I asked how will I know when the product is received at the seller’s end and the cc was like we will mail you the tracking status of the return.
Then after 7 days still refund was not received so contacted cc he said that the refund is issued from our end and it will reflect in 1-2 hour. 6 hours passed still refund was not reflecting. I again reached to their cc via call. Now the cc said the refund is rejected as you returned different item which I had already mentioned while raising the return. Cc said now nothing can be done.
Then I asked cc to connect me with their level 2 support. Now this cc was humble and polite person. I explained him all. He initially kept insisting that nothing can be done but at last he issued a gift card with a tag “Gratification from Amazon”.

This is false now. Account history doesn’t matter. They’re doing it now on regular basis. Before if anyone did any genuine mischief on amazon, account will get flagged and get warning messages before permanently blocking.

Go ahead and check all amazon fulfilled sellers reviews, you go and do extensive digging like wayback archives and see for yourself how many negative reviews by customers have increased recently. It’s nearing 30%

Was talking about investigation part, there’s no such a thing. Whenever they say, investigation is ON, the case gets transferred to CAP team / Account specialist. First timers get the refund easily but if the same thing repeats again then there are two possibilities
1. Reject Replacement/Refund request
2. Flag/Block account
& Yes, its more regular these days and they denied refunds to a lot of genuine customers past couple of weeks

try ordering a good book in hardcover or food items from r k infoworld and Amazon retail where no expiry date is mentioned on product page.

Level 2 CS are the seniors of the CS persons who are first point of contact. To connect with level 2 support contact level 1 and tell them to connect to their senior.
You can connect with them over phone only.

just skimmed through. now I feel I’m lucky that my loss is less then 3k and the kid loss 800 and we became alert.

cant believe they denied him refund even after accurately matching the IMEI no on product, invoice and company!

Already had some 1st hand experiences of new Indianized Amazon in last 2 years.

Refund denied saying "wrong product sent by customer" for my 5k Gas stove, somehow Jeff mail helped.

In another instance of Amazon fresh, items were billed as per 1 kg price but packed as per 1/4 kg price (some idiot forgot /4 in the code), again Jeff mail helped.

In another case of Amazon fresh i have sent photo of crushed strawberries for which I got refund, after few hours noticed that dragon fruit had fungus so again sent photo for refund but it was denied twice. Raised it again and got refund and this time experienced customer executive clarified why it was denied previously. Because previous guys marked dragon fruit pic as duplicate & same as strawberry pic just because both are red in color.

Another instance of seller fulfilled item, the fraud seller did not arrange pick up for 1 months & then ATS was assigned which too did not pick up for another 1 month, Amazon initiated refund and the very next day the return was picked up, I thought it was Amazon but it was fraud seller. Amazon says their ATS did not pick it up and hence it was not marked as returned in my account.

bro! I don’t think he’ll steal 300-800 rupees items thrice to jeopardize his job 😅 

i would understand if someone might get laalchi if it’s an expensive watch, phone, gold coin (even billionaires get laalchi and spread a bloodbath to steal!) but a jar of mushrooms, masalas, college books, teachers guides, small cheap gift items is out of question.

this cheating is getting rampant now after cloudtail shut down. I feel some amazon insiders are at this again.

there are two big stealing news from amazon in north-east, Assam in this year till June, done by Amazon own staff! From supervisors and others stealing money which was supposed to be distributed as salary/rent to warehouse team stealing and replacing expensive items with cheap shit. It’s all over in our local newspapers.
