Friends, I have been using Mi Box 4K and Android Lollipop 5.1 mobile for a long time.

when i use remote control (virtual remote or phisical remote) for selecting any youtube video on mi box, some ads are playing between the video.

when i use youtube casting feature from my mobile’s youtube app to mi box’s youtube app, there are NO ads. completely ad-free content.

i noticed this thing some months ago. firstly i thought it was a bug in youtube app. I regularly update the youTube app on both my mobile and Mi Box devices to the latest version. but i am still enjoying youtube without ads while casting youtube from my lollipop mobile to mi box 4k.

Advertising plays a major role in generating revenue for our beloved YouTubers. So let’s try as much as we can to even watch ads to contribute to our favorite youtubers.

sometimes ads irritate us, that time you can avoid ads by following this tip… don’t use remote control. just use youtube cast. enjoy youtube without ads. PS- i didn’t try youtube premium till now.

I’m not sure, possibly it may act as adblocker or you may have it in the background. I’ve observed no difference in number of advertisements either in screencast or default app

Another thing is, I can still see ads while watching videos on my mobile’s YouTube app. NetGuard is also running.

I will also recheck likely sometime today…you may be lucky not to see advts when casting…or it could be bug with some recent features/update.

Try adguard DNS or something similar at Router level
You will see less ads overall across all devices

not too tech savvy this side.
certainly not with portable devices, such technologies
for as long as i remember (even on desktop computers) i totally avoid updating cosmetic changes or non critical security updates.

Contrast that with my Maa, who uses decent new phones (every 2 to 3 years) and happy to update the OS or apps or have my father do the same at the slightest hint, notificatons (whenever time, dsta, speed permit).

She “always” has her videos interrupted with nuisance sudden adverts.

For example, this long upload

ssganesh this⬆ is neither some original content, uniwue creation nor some ‘favourite youtuber’ thing.

Personally, even if it were, they have Nebula like plstforms or sponsers or other ways to make money.
If i really am desperate or keen to support them, i might pay at Patrean or directly (those animal shelter videos often plead for donstions).
now contrast this with my case
old porrable devices NEVER updated with OS or amy VPN or internet security or antivirus software.

youtube, gmail used under private/incognito tabs. i never get any adversts!
so, it msy not be about VPN, but not having enough data, no account logged in the device, no latest apps or latest OS. So google treats it as a ghost device, useless device and supresses advert triggers?
P.S.: i use terms like “always” and “never” very selectively. so if i have used them above, it is practically so!
