Close hdfc credit card.
Get a secured loan, if you don't have one .
But don't expect 750ish score before 1 year.
Looks like people obsessed with cibil and number. 😔

To get sbi cadhback card
Good cibil score is pretty helpful if you're getting SBI card for the first time as having good cibil will fetch you good credit limit even without any income documents.
Try your luck with the sprint platform if you're an existing SBI card customer .
You might get lame limit of 20-30k but you can easily transfer other sbi card's limit to that card as many dimers already did it.

And having a good cibil score for many is just a number to flex about in such financial forums or among co workers. Sadly I'm also one of them.
I remember when apay icici was launched it was so hard to get and now nearly every person have apay icici card irrespective of their income.
Remember, whatever score you have, it only matters that if you have any negative remarks on your report or not. There's nothing to care about the number if it's 700 or 750 if you have good income proof document.

I know many people who got the card with less than 740 credit score,no income proof and around 50kish credit limit on existing SBI CC.
And SBI rejected in case such as yours, strange, really strange. 😏
Try again next time from sprint platform.

Anyways, holding off for now as have had 4 cards rejected during Nov/Dec period- SBI CB, then Axis Magnus, SBI Ultimate and finally AU Bank (Got 3 cards approved as well- Legend, BoB Eterna and HDFC Neu Infinity during this period).
Planning to give gap of 6 months before reapplying Magnus and CB.

Today, India's largest bank (& the one with the biggest portfolio for Home loans) is giving loan rates based on CIBIL score buckets.
Don't be surprised if in future, all the loan rates (not just Home loans) by all banks/FIs are benchmarked to CIBIL scores. Higher the score, lower the rate offered to you.
When the race begins, you will have to keep yourself ahead to grab the lowest rates (if you avail a loan)!

Score is not everything.
One Negative Remark=One Negative Remark
1 delayed payment out of 500 or 1000 is negligible. I don't hink it should change in credit worthiness of borrower. Every one is not 100 % perfect person. Some time some thing out of our control.

Au rejected earlier approved now. Indus, rbl approved as well this month. Probably due to march end they are approving the cards
