We know mutual funds give high returns after 20-30 years, but has anyone stayed invested for 2-3 years and seen good results?

Biggest myth of MF - You can't be in a loss if you do SIPs (nothing systematic about it, it's all automatic)
What if we do it lump sum loss or profit ..!
Invested in large cap MF for last 5 years via SIP starting Jan 2020, XIRR is 17%.
Personally I do MF lumpsum if index is 10% lower than 52 week high... stopped SIPs completely long ago, even after this market carnage, XIRR>30%...
Also sell off LTCG units when market is at 52 weeks high...

This is my method too. just with stocks instead of MF.
Timing won’t be perfect, but close by.
When the market is too down for the year, everybody is panicking, do some research and buy some long term worthwhile stocks.
When all are super happy about trading, markets up. I simply collect some of my ltcg profits.
However I am not a regular trader, neither think myself an intelligent one. But somehow this scheme works out profitable. Lazy in trading I guess, like to upgrade my skillsets rather in my work field.
