How do Indian news channels call themselves "News channels"? Literally....I mean literally...they were covering the love story of Sachin & Seema while Manipur was burning!!

Most of the news channels are Delhi/Mumbai centric. For anything happening anywhere else, they do not bother. And for them, North East does not even exist.
Amfan cyclone was the most devastating cyclone for Kolkata in the last 150 years. The day after, not a  single national news channel covered it. On the other hand, if it rains 5 mm in a day in Delhi, all news channels would be covering it 24x7

Yes, Western media did cover both incidents.

FYI, Western media has been regularly reporting on himachal floods, land slides for past one week. I don't think Indian media is giving any importance to this crisis.
