It might be confusing to select a washing machine which is suitable for your family. Let’s check some quick FAQs in detail.

1. What does washing machine capacity mean?

It is actually the weight of clothes you can wash in a machine. In Simple Language, It is the capacity of the machine you will need to wash your laundry.

If you choose a washing machine of a smaller size, you will end up wasting your time and effort. Which means you’ll have to run multiple cycles to complete your laundry

And, if you choose a bigger washing machine, you’ll end up spending more on the operating cost such as water, electricity, and detergent.

2. How is the capacity of the washing machine measured?

Thumb rule is, the capacity of the machine depends on the weight of dry clothes and not of wet clothes.

So, if you have 6kgs of dry clothes for laundry you’ll need a 6kg washing machine capacity.

3. How to choose Correct Size?

Capacity/ size will depend on the number of family members and number frequency of use (Many times you will be using machine for cleaning)

Refer to the table for capacity and Type of machine.

4. What are factors to look for before selecting a machine?

    a. Washing Programmes-

Programmes your machine may have are:

Cottons and synthetics- Most washers will have a programme for cottons and synthetics. These are designed to treat your fabrics in the best way possible. If you have cotton programs that wash your clothes at hotter temperatures, and synthetics programs will wash clothes at lower temperatures and spin speeds.

    • Wool, delicates, and hand wash- Some garments need low temperatures and gentle care. These settings are good for garments that require lower temperatures and minimal agitation – especially for fabrics that get damaged easily.

    • Sports- Whether you want to remove sweat stains or odors, or you’re washing a garment made out of microfibers, this setting will allow you to clear your athletic wear at a lower temperature for longer.

    • Quick wash- If you need a garment in a hurry or you want to freshen up your cloth that’s only slightly dirty, then a quick wash can do this for you in less than 30 minutes.

    • Half load- Sometimes you can’t fill the machine more than halfway, but you need those clothes washed, and you don’t want to wait for more laundry to make the pile, then a half load setting will wash your clothes while saving on energy and water.

    • Easy iron and anti-crease- This setting can prevent clothes from creasing by shortening the spin cycle or lowering the spin speed.

    • Anti-allergy- This wash cycle uses very high temperatures or steam to remove allergens like dust mites or bacteria from fabrics. Good for those who suffer from allergies or skin problems.

    • Extra rinse- You can use this setting to rinse clothes again to remove any excess detergent. It’s a good option for those with sensitive skin or an allergy to detergent.

    • Economy mode- This cycle automatically lowers the temperature to help you reduce energy consumption.

    • Rinse hold facility- This setting works by holding washed clothes in clean rinse water before spinning, so you can be there to empty the machine as soon as the garments are spin dried and you won’t have to deal with creases.

    • Child locks- If you have curious little children, it’s worth investing in a machine that has child locks.

      b. Drum type

    • Plastic drums
These are still very common and come in washing machines that are more economically-priced. They are also seen in top-loading washing machines, both semi-automatic and fully-automatic. The biggest bonus point of having a plastic drum is that it is easier to clean and does not get corroded by harsh hard water.

    • Steel drums
They are more premium and can be seen in both top load and front load washing machines. Most manufacturers have their own technology to design a steel drum to ensure your clothes are not damaged but they are thoroughly cleaned during the wash and spin cycles.

    c. Water consumption-
In general, Fully Automatic Front Load consumes about 60 L of water whereas, Fully Automatic Top Load Consumes 140 L and Semi Automatic consumes 120 L of water. Consumption of water per wash may vary according to machine.

    d. Electricity consumption
Below chart will help you understand the electricity consumption per wash for Top load washing machines.

      Warranty

The 10-12 year warranty is on the motor (motor and pully/ direct drive motor) only. The body carries 2 year warranty I guess.

do not expect warranty after 4-5 years. either customers forget about it or change the machine or companies, especially the service center, will tell u ki spares are not made anymore and you need to pay on pro rata basis.
