Who doesn’t love chocolate and candies? As 90’s kids, we used to get the most excited for these delicious sweet or sour treats. Some of them are available on e-commerce sites but so many of them can’t even be found now
These candies remind of everything that was sweet in our childhood, and have the dearest memories attached to them.
As the title says, which were your favourite candies/chocolates as a kid?
I’ll go first.
1. Aam Chaska
2. Choki Choki
3. Fatafat
A tempo would be selling these right outside our school everyday
Not a 90s kid but i can relate to these
90s? 4 candy in 1re 🥺
Option 1 and 2
Amla candy too was superb!!!
Milkybar too was very good along with that chocolate which had orange wrapper i forget its name
Sweet amla and imli 😍
Eclairs, alpenliebe, mango bite, melody and who can forget poppins
bus mein milta hai yeh. 10rs. ke 6-7 piece bas
Pan Pasand & Swad….
I’ve only seen it’s wrapper, wo bhi hamare bhaiya ji laake dikhaaye the ek baar, Jadoo Jadoo bolkar 😂
Candy. Hmm.
I am a 90's Kid. I am an exactly 90's kid. I was born in 1990. 😁
When I was a kid, I called every sort of candies as chocklate ( that's how I pronounced Chocolate then). My parents n my sisters were very strict about my diet, especially sugary food. So, it was a big occasion for me, when I used to get one to eat.
1) +Kismi bar+
When I used to get upset, my sister used to buy me a Kismi bar. 🙂🙂🙂 It was white n tasted like heaven. It feels so tiny in my small hands now. But it felt sooo big, wrapped in my tiny fingers.

2) +Mango Mood+
Who can forget this tiny little bundle of joy. It had a photo of a smiling mango. It tasted like frooti. 🙂🙂 I used to collect wrappers of it.

3) +Mango Bite+
This one was sooo different. Mango Bite and Mango Mood were fierce competitors. At that time we craved Mango Bite, as it was kind of hard to find. It was not sealed in a tiny pouch like Mango Mood, it was instead wrapped by a wax paper n poly wrapper. It tasted kinda exotic as well.

3) +Coffee Bite+
Little bitter sweet soft coffee candies remind me of Lotte's Coffee Bite. It was a rare candy for me. My father used to find one for me.

4) +Melody+
Melody itna chocolatey kyu hai??? Melody khao, khood Jan jao. 🐒
This is an iconic candy. I loved its taste. Sweet soft caramel containing chocolate syrup made me a big fan. But it was a bit on more expensive side. So, I rarely got em.
5) +Hajmola Albela Aam n Bulbuli Imli Candy+
Iconic Hajmola Candies come with Aam and Imli flavours. I kinda hated them because they were really rough on my palate. I would suck on em, and they ll tear into my palate. 😔😔😔
6) +Maha Lacto+
Nutrine Maha Lacto will continue to have a special place in my heart. It was milky, sweet n very gentle on my palate unlike other candies, Melody being an exception.
Well it was not all Bueno for Nutrine. Its factory shut down. Godrej took over. Hershey's took control. https://www.thehindubusinessline.com/companies/...
7) +Cookies+
Nutrine coconut cookies. Tiny bits of coconut embedded in hard candy was a bit different experience. Now I have even forgotten its taste. At that time it was ubiquitous in all shops.
8) +Poppins+
Goli rainbow wali catch phrase literally suits Parle Poppins.
Different flavoured candies were placed in a roll, how convenient.
9) +Gems+
Cadbury Gems was basically a paper pack of a lot of sugar coated chocolate balls. They come in different colours but all taste the same.

I have a lot of fond memories associated with this brand. 🙂 One pack means fun for entire family.
A good article on it http://marketingpractice.blogspot.com/2006/09/c...
10) +Big Babol+
Perfetti's Big Babol was such an hit. But I guess it came much later, probably in the mid 90s. Tag line was, bade kam ki chiz.
Source: https://www.campaignindia.in/article/perfetti-r...
I can remember, they used to give small booklets, which contained adventures of a boy n Big Babol. 🙂
Great article on it https://theprint.in/features/big-babol-indias-b...
11) +Boomer+
Boom.. Boom.. Boomer!!! Does it ring a bell? OOO yes. Wrigley's answer to Big Babol was a huge success.
It had our favourite superhero. 🙂🙂🙂 Unfortunately Govt of India has banned the hero. https://www.afaqs.com/news/mktg/we-want-to-make...
12) +Honey fab+
It is soooo yummy. Omg. How could it be at bottom of the list. My father brought these for me. Every shops didn't have them. Caramel exterior, n extremely sweet honey like syrupy inner core. It was like match made in heaven. And it was super underrated.

And many more. Haha. Candyman, Cadbury chocolates, Alpenliebe ( German word, Alps Love), Center Fruit, Center Shock, Lacto King, Boiled fruit candies from Ravalgaon etc are honorable mentions.
🙂🙂🙂
Sab ke sab candies pasand they,, 😂
Pan Parag and pan pasand ko kabhi pasand kiya nai, bhai. 😁😁😁

Rosemint was never there in my childhood, though it is available in nearby shops now

Everyone visiting there childhood memories irrespective of the year they were born in and the candies changing.
