For OP, I think the HDFC cashback is the best offer you would get and if its cheaper than now, they might remove the HDFC cashback.

I was waiting on it and then decided to go for the official apple store using student discount ( not a student) but you can ask around for someone to help on that. For 83.6k and free airpods, it feels like a great deal and you can rest assured as unlike Appario you will get full apple store perks.
If you go to a apple reseller offline, they will give you 8% and HDFC offer or 12% off. So if you don’t need the airpods, thats a good deal as well.
Even with newer Mac pro 13 lauching soon I don’t expect Air M1 to lose even a penny from its official price anytime soon.

Honestly I don’t make plans like that generally. Of course I have my list of things to purchase in near future. But If I see something that might be useful to me immediately or in near future at a fantastic price ( and unmatched value), Or something I really like and get it at a great price I purchase it.

That’s how I bought JBL professional speaker 104 or LG 32 Inch monitor etc. 


But if I need something immediately I  don’t wait for any sale, Compare and buy it at best known price.

I might buy a  laptop with IPS screen but only if it’s great value for money.

I have a tendency to buy 2nd hand used electronics ( from OLX) because of their high value for money aspects and to prolong life of an electronics product. It also reduces e-waste.
