My fellow dimers,
so this year i am planning to travel to 1 country per month starting from june till december planning to live in each country for 2-3 weeks.
And i was wondering if we have cards in india which give us Flight miles etc , 1 card I saw was Axis bank Vistara card.
What other cards are you guys using or have used ?
This is my first time going out of india so any tips for Foreign travel would be appreciated .

OP asked best credit cards for travelling
Not Google pay cards
Indusind VISA Signature Exclusive Debit Card
Foreign Exchange Markup Fee: 0% . You can also withdraw cash at ease from your account.

Previously I used to carry a Forex card for this purpose and load money into it, if you want you can do that too. Loading USD in HDFC regalia muticurrency forex card was my best option.
If you want to use credit card then as Tanmayyy suggested use Infinia/ DCB credit card, remember to enable HDFC Global Value Program for 1% extra cashback on international spends. So basically with 3.3% + 1% returns, you will make more profit even with the already industry low 2% forex charges.

Thats nice , i have the indusind signature card. will check the infinia too , thanks for the info
22g russia se shuru karna
Italy se start kar raha hu
Lottery lagi hai kya?
First break in so many years.
Hdfc use to be a good option but now its useless with so many limitation.
If you can get it easily and spend a lot then well n good else better pursue diff cards. Vistara is good for domestic only. That too they don’t fly all the sectors.
Amex travel was a good option but they can’t fresh application for now.
Air india has made redemption easier under tata’s wing so start with sbi air India card.
what if i take a friends amex and use it , will that be a problem while using it outside of india?
if possible plz make youtube videos also
we all dimers will like & share it
nah man , i am going to enjoy . not interested in yt. already a lot of good travel youtubers from india.
Infinia is invite-only card, in case they are showing tantrums for giving that card, you can opt for Diners Black from HDFC. You can also look into Amex Platinum Travel, although if you don’t have you cannot take this now as it is in the RBI ban. You should use either Axis Vistara or one of the HDFC duo. I would also suggest getting your membership in flights (Kris FLyers. Vistara Gold etc.), if you are traveling using some specific airlines. You can also use your existing reward points for these miles by converting them and earning bonus miles too. After the trip, if you use it wisely, you will have enough miles for traveling free for the next 2-3 years.
ill check with them for the infinia , i dont have any relation with hdfc ban , no accounts nothing. lets see what happens. thanks for the reply and help.
where do you work so much money 😃
check my old comment ,i just took a break after so many years of constant working.
Yeah i am mostly using skyscanner for flights. already booked for first two months.
yeah will definitely take medical insurance as its one of the things to enter some countries .
regarding cash , should i carry local currency or USD?
going to use One card as it has only 1% markup.
Phone is the only thing im not sure of , jio rechargeis like 1600 rs and costs 15 rs per minute or something.
Thanks for taking the time to write such a long answer.
Following this thread coz ek din apna time aayega
Youtuber?
Nope. just a regular person who has not travelled to anywhere.
interesting thread. I always thought Citibank would be the choice.
Making an international purchase while residing in India using OneCard and relying on all your international transactions abroad on OneCard are 2 different things. I don’t own it but I would never take such a risk and would keep a reliable bank’s credit card.
Yeah , ill Have My corporate CC and also My ICICI CC and AXIS CC as a backup.
This post looks to be a spam, the op “is someone who used to be on DD”
couple of years ago i was way too active on DD then i stopped using DD and changed my name to that name.
yeah i am trying to find a chest strap , i saw it in the movie 😄EUROTRIP.
yes i will try to keep both USD and Local Currency.
Thanks for the reply.
I get the fun part, I hope you are not expecting a euro trip 😜

I have something similar.. I used it solely for money and debit cards though.
Curated Just for you. Also, do keep some money/CC in your socks/shoes. 🤐🤐
I got this one tip from a friend , he told me to carry 2 Wallets , once fake wallet with a random Card with low limit etc and little cash and change , so that in case im gettign robbed or something , i can just give the fake wallet.
Pretty handy
"@somebodythatusedtobeondd":https://www.desidime.com/users/...13 Congratulations !
Here are some tips :
Exchange rate which you will get at airport is horrible (European countries) it is worse than actually using your CC to get money from ATM.
When travelling within a country try the national airline website they have much cheaper fare ( they usually don't show all their flights on skyscanner ).
Every city has some areas which are not safe ( research them in advance )
Be a little extra cautious while travelling in metro/buses/trams , keep a watch on your belongings.
Get a CC with unlimited lounge access ( Use shower and Pod facility wherever you can : you can check what facilities are available in a particular airport through priority pass app )
Book accommodation near the tourist places even if they are a little expensive will save a lot of time and effort.
Use booking.com for hotel bookings ( Ask hotel for free luggage storage after you have checked out so that you can roam around without carrying the stuff , most hotels will accept it not sure if Airbnb will have this facility )
Enjoy.
Thanks for the tips. which CC for unlimited lounge access, ?
