Well this doctor does not use any toothpaste (1:57) at least that’s what he claims. And when a doctor claims to use nothing on a public platform then I generally give the doctor’s opinion a bit more weight. 🙂
Relative Dentin Abrasivity (RDA) is the risk of the daily regimen of toothpaste to your teeth.
The American Dental Association (ADA) and friends determined that, ideally, the RDA of a toothpaste should be 70 or below. Outside of brushing with plain water, the next lowest RDA value of 7 came in as, surprisingly, plain baking soda. Take a closer look at this chart, which is compiled from 24 sources, independent research and manufacturer data. Are you experiencing different levels of sensitivity with your toothpaste selection? Switching to a less abrasive choice may be your answer! Source: https://www.familydentisttree.com/abrasive-toot...

My dentist recommends me Stolin – R toothpaste. I really don’t know its RDA rating. She also recommends me a soft bristled brush and interdental brush.

Personal Care
As my gums were red, dentist advised to change toothpaste to normal Colgate toothpaste.
If your gums are irritated some will even suggest to brush with plain water (I read in Reddit thread).
We used to use miswak, then switched to patanjali dant kanti..and now from the past couple of years we are using vicco vajardanti

Else, rastey kaa maal sastey mein. Whatever that be.
However, medical care tooth creams or those adviced by genuine medical practitioners needs to be heeded to, in specific cases.

Even their charcoal ones, salt ones are good too … for exfoliating face skin (especially before shaving).
And the salt one can sometimes also be added in dishes/sabji’s if there is less salt.

(immediately afterwards) purpose?
Especially since they are anyway not as effective (assuming they are. Most people use most products in the non prescribed or hotchpotch manner).

On a serious note, its actually good. Used it in childhood days. With time it got replaced by toothpaste merely because of ease of use.

ati Sundar Bhai. I have met couple of centurians who have done this. They have apparently no dental issues.
Colgate Herbal . Has a better taste than Vedshakti . Usually I alternate between Total and Active Salt.
