Hey guys,

I’m totally new to trading. As a first step, I want to open demat account and want to purchase stable shares?
Please guide me or is there any wiki on desidime for this? Shall i open through some brokerage sites or directly through bank account?

Also are there any offers for opening demat account?

zerodha provides less marging than wisdom and also gets hang sometimes. Try wisdom it is much better and u can also try option selling in less margin.

But their annual reports are shit.

If you are looking for cheap brokerage fee then sure go for Zerodha. But sometimes Zerodha can’t handle the load and their services are down. Not very often but it happens and because of that people lost lakhs of rupees.

If you need reliability then go with firms like Sharekhan etc.

Zerodha is good for you if you are casual/occasional trader.

If you are a newbie then I would say go with finvasia they are one of the best brokers around in terms of pricing and major benefit of being with them is that they don’t charge any brokerage neither for delivery nor for intraday.
Plus account opening charges and AMC is also zero for lifetime.
