if paid for 3 years it becomes 48000
18% GST
Apollo Munich-5 lakhs – 21000 per year +GST
Royal sundaram
New India life insurance
ETC
I have a major doubt
Whether these insurance too have tiny * atlast of policy
Whether it will be a big hassle settling the claims
What should I look upon while choosing the best insurance
How can I check for review of them
Suggestions are welcome
MAX benefit Max coverage easy settlement of claim in emergency is what I want in return of the premium
Are there any such insurance policies present?
Average premium(average meaning not too high not too low) max benefits (max meaning best as per the premium)
My father is in construction works so his health is always in risk, he be 90% of days away from home

Health insurance covers only one thing, in general: hospitalization.

If you were hospitalized, then you can make a claim for reimbursement.

Health insurance might also cover pre-hospitalization and post-hospitalization – but within reasonable limits. Some health insurances might cover health checkups etc. as well.

If you already have some disease, there would be a waiting period. As in, if you declare while taking a policy, that you have diabetes, then up to 3 years – any hospitalization because of diabetes, won’t be covered by the policy.

Other than this, health insurance does not cover hospitalization for HIV patients.

Normally health insurance does not cover critical illnesses like Cancer / Stroke as they cost more. Better to get a specific critical illness or top-up plans, available separately. HFDC ERGO does cover critical illness in some of their health insurance plans so check for their plans.

So, which health insurance plan should I get?

This is difficult to say. Your medical profile is one factor that would decide this.

In general, I would say go for one

  • that does not have room rent limit,
  • that doesn’t have restore benefits,
  • that doesn’t have top-up benefits,
  • that doesn’t have co-pay option,
  • that doesn’t have health-checkup benefits

These things either increases the premium or puts you at a disadvantage, without ever being of any benefit to you.

Not familiar with indian health care..

It don’t cover doctors and medication and treatments etc?

If you want to go see a doctor because you broke you leg? the xrays and such, pain kilelrs etc..

When I heard a job includes medical and dental as perks I mean it covers me and family.. With a small deductible.. When I left the job they asked if I wanted to continue and it would be $600 or so person per month.. So for a family this is more important than the salary they get.

No policy will cover dental issues that your mother is having. So, that would need to be paid on your own.

You and your brother are too young to think of mediclaim policy. The amount that would be spent to cover extra two of you wouldn’t be worth.

Just think of policy for your father and mother and check with him as how much premium is he ready to pay every year.

Max Bupa is one good health insurance provider.

That’s why get a family floater plan. Difference in premium is not much than buying health insurance for two adults.

And yes, you are right. Most plans will not cover Eye and Dental issues.

choose Mediclaim with No ROOM rent limit ( why ? because if you cross the permissible room rent given by your insurer then all other claims would be adjusted as per % of rent you exceeded ) .

choose a Family floater plan ( a comprehensive plan of minimum 3 lakh) then a super top up plan of 10 Lakh , this will reduce your premium in someway. Also do not pay for whole 3-5 years in advance . because if you pay yearly then your father is eligible for tax benefits under section 80d.

coming to which company you should go for then prefer some major public sector general insurance companies like NIC,UII,OI etc ,check their claim selttlement ratio ,all of them use TPA for settlement , private companies are also good and give good service but go for top brands like HDFC Ergo ,ICICI, Appolo munich ,max bupa etc.

Bro only buy sarkaari policy for mediclaim.
Pvt cos show real tantrums while giving claims, premium they accept happily.
Govt policy would be costly but the best.

My aunt mediclaim of pvt cos got rejected , she was suffering from swine flu, still.

Get any policy from united india or national india insurance or new india insurance.

I am myself using parivar mediclaim from national india.

It is good that you have shown interest in Health Insurance at a very early age. Please keep in view the following points before narrowing down type of floater/family individual plan. Please stay away from Group Health Plans unless they are funded by the employer.

1. Keep your Health needs ready(Minimum Sum Insured, Pre-existing ailments etc). Always read the policy brochure & the wordings before you opt for a cover. Check if the insurers offer the below covers with your health insurance. Some Insurers bundle the below& make the cover more lucrative.
a. PA Cover
b. Critical illness
c. Hospital Daily cash limits
d. OPD cover/limits

2. Purchase a base plan with minimum of 1 lacs cover per individual, in your case as there are 4 persons to be insured ensure that the cover is of 4 lacs at least. This will ensure adequate cover for all the 4 persons.

3. Get a Top up Policy from the same insurer if you have a base policy. This will allow you to keep your premium cost low & also make the process of claiming under this policy easier.

4. Check for the co-pay limits before you purchase. Co-Pay limits may range from 10% to as high as 50% in some cases. Sometimes they may even be Zero %

Finally, purchase the policy directly from the insurer. Never get the policy from a broker or agent regardless of how rosy the picture is painted. Also keep in mind that any misrepresentation of facts during proposal will end in getting your claim to be rejected. The insurer can even cancel the policy in case they notice any such activity.I’m informing this to you out of experience as I work with a General Insurer under their Grievances Cell.

After purchase please add a reminder in google baba (calender) to ensure renewal of the policy happens much before the due date. Keep this as early as month. Never port the cover unless you absolutely need to.

I hope this was useful to you.

I worked in New India Assurance co. And suggest you to opt a policy from Government company. Others may be interested in your premium timely but not for claim. Go for a family floater plan.

I suggest star health insurance.
The public insurance companies many have no cashless facility and reimbursement only.if we suggest TPA again need to pay extra.
In star your family floter premium for 300000 will be around 10000
