looking for budget mobile around 5k
mainly for hotspot (24×7) & torrent downloads on mobile but will also occasionally use couple of apps, calls and sms.
will plug it 24×7.
have power fluctuations over here so mobile can provide continuous hotspot via its battery.

Theoretically speaking it not possible for mobile phone. As phone does not have a Standby mode like laptops have. But they have improved in recent year but the process remains the same. Phone charges to the lithium battery and after full charge it blocks the ac power and starts working on dc power, starts discharging again.

This only possible when phone starts using graphine cell or capacitor.

24×7 plugin rolleyes Not a good idea
Keep it at safe distance – fire alarm recommended

Not if the mobile supports which for convenience I am terming Laptop mode. Some Sony mobiles when rooted can even control the charging voltage which is even better.

Which sim u will be using in that ?
If jio you can buy a Jiofi device and use jiocall application on any other mobile that will serve both of your purpose I am doing that currently.
The only downside i find is you can’t use upi application everything else works perfectly

wont this degrade the battery quickly as battery cycles will be consumed. i think better would be to bypass the battery when its fully charged and directly consume power from charger.

NO Phone actually.

It’s simple electrical science. A mobile phone has a battery and charger in a series circuit. The battery will always deplete(as the source of current will always be the battery) and the charger will always try to juice it up.
A conventional Laptop has battery and charger in a parallel circuit. The source of current can either be battery or the charger. Hence, a laptop works even without a battery.

This should be implemented in phone batteries as well. What’s the alternative? Remove the battery permanently and short the contacts?

does redmi note 8 have real fast charging or same 2Hrs +

Mobile Guru Mobile Guru

Yes. But it’s too complicated to do. The power source needs to be modified so that it exactly matches the voltage of the battery while also dealing with minute power surcharges.

I think instead of charging mobile for 24×7.. you can go with smart chargers with wifi switch.. inwhich you can preset auto-on off facility and forget about searching phone with this facility.
I came to see these type of chargers in internet but not purchased it.. i hope it will cost below 1k. Try checking this.. !

OP, use a power bank which stops output when phone is charged.
Better use a power bank with by pass charging.

but still battery will be charging even when its fully charged right if it doesn’t support bypass feature.

Can’t say for sure. I have root access. So I set battery to charge no more than 80%. Even plugged in overnight it stays there. But the device is drawing current directly from the AC Mains ( as opposed to battery ) which can be confirmed by any kernel manager like FKM.
Edit: Battery voltage, temp remain unchanged.
Yureka devices can be rooted easily. Decent developer support. IIRC at least one was compatible.
