I have shortlisted few multifunctional printers with wifi connectivity for occasional use. The price is just approx.

Canon Pixma G3000 All-in-One Wireless Ink Tank Colour Printer – 12,000 rs

HP DeskJet 3835 All-in-One Ink Advantage Wireless Colour Printer – 7300 rs

HP Laserjet Pro M126nw Laser Printer – 16,000 rs

HP Laserjet Pro M1136 Laser Printer – 14,300 rs

Canon mf244dw laserjet printer

I also need to buy printer mostly for kiddo school usage
Please suggest me as well

I have brother ink tank t500. Works amazing. Bought in 2017, just required one black ink refill (which comes extra in the box itself). So far so good. I bought for 9500 on paytm

Using and Epson 4152 ink tank AIO wifi enabled. Purchased it for 9000 about 5 months back. Borderless printing. Printed 1000+ borderless photos and roughly the same in documents. Ink levels have not dropped 30% yet.

Everytime before printing photos – i will check for nozzle blocks. twice i have observed that the nozzles have required cleaning. Printing is a breeze – phones as well as computers. I print directly from anywhere in the world directly to the printer. Signed agreement documents is one such use.

HP / Canon use thermal ink which leads to caking and coking of the ink on long runs. Epson uses piezo electrics – simple injectors – so no heat and hence lower clogging problems and precision dots. Head changes are frequent in HP / Canon (infact their cartridges always had new print heads – Epson just required ink changes). Head clogging minimum in Epson.

Just my two bits. I am not a fan of lasers. Unless one prints in bulk, they simply dont justify the price for a mono printer.

The model is 4150 series.

Check ios store for epson iprint. It should tell you about the compatibility. A random google search shows it as compatible.

As mentioned i have printed it via Windows, android, google print, cloud print and global print via direct connection and email as well.

After writing my earlier post, checked printer. It was clogged. Did the nozzle cleaning. Back to normal.

Absolutely economical prints.

Inkjet ecotank printer by epson is the best.

Have HP 3545 for 5 years now working well print per page will be around 3.5
costly INK price mine cartridge is HP 678

Ink Tank or Laser only make sense these days.

I have canon e560 inkjet printer, printer is working fine, but the cartidges are damn costly, now switched to refilling (via syringe) i suggest one should go for a ink tank printers which are bit costly but refilling cost overcomes that

I will suggest use Printer from Xerox store near you. Black and White Print near college store cost 1 Rs. Sometimes 80 Paise for bulk print.

If you are buying own printer then make sure you will take atleast 2 print weekly else ink get dry.

Also buying printer cartridge is costly so buy ink bottle and use injection to fill it which make printing very cheap.

Hp in range 3000-4000rs just printer functionality.. It is worth .


Canon is quality but costly.. Also refilling of carterages does not work.
Scanner will not work without carterages. Black will not work without colour and viceversa..


Epson – if printer head is broker it will cost same as printer.


HP carterages are cheap… Works the purpose. No restrictions like Canon or Epson.

I suggest you to buy inkjet printer of hp 5820. Which has low cost of printing. If you old printer which is getting on place for exchange. This has scan, print and wifi. Atleast weekly give one print of colour if you are not using for couple of weeks. Now a day children’s have lot of project work’s which needs printouts and there is a bit of fear if we have girl child sharing their mobiles for printing. Buying b/w laserjet is good but colour is a bit costly. So occasional purpose this is best.

If your uses are occasional the must go with Laser printers because its ink is durable and no maintenance occurs and the problem with ink jet printer their models or ink will be dry if you’ll not use it regularly.

Always go for laser printers if you print occasionally.
Laser printer ink never dries up. Even if you print ones every year the printout comes perfect.

Inkjet printers or ink tank printers both have alcohol based ink which evaporates when not in use.

Also when you have not used the inkjet printer for a long time then the self cleaning process of the head eats up lot of ink .

Any day buy a colour laser or a mono colour printer.

Laser printers are always an investment so don’t be afraid on the initial high price.

Personal experience . In last 25 years I have bought 3 inkjet printers and in last 15 years on 1 laser printer.

- 2 Rs. prints: you can get them in ALL cities, just look for the shops that are located around big colleges.
- Which Printer: I personally don’t see any point ( for home use ) in buying laserjets now, as ink tanks are available, you might think that you dont want color prints, but you will regret this later. (print tshirts, board games, ludo, photos…….)
- Which company:
1. Check if brand is offering onsite repair in your area
2. Longest warranty (even if optional)

No other printer can match it’s print quality even costing twice of this.

Due to lockdown shifted my office printer home.
now have 2 my workhorse lj1010 and MFP which prints photo copies but needed to print on a sticker. Impossible because laser printers cannot do it.
If you want extra dark print, laser printer cannot give that perfect black.
So in that scenario I have to also buy an ink jet.

but laser you can disconnect and store it in original box for 5 years. Only thing after 5 years before use is change the toner powder for ₹100 and use as from the day it was stored.
