I’m going through a rough face in my life from last 8 years. A negative past strikes my mind which turns into a bad atmosphere around my family. So, I need someone who can help me, otherwise I may die.

Yoga, morning walk, meditation will surely help u
Never think of dying.it may be easy for u to die ,but think about your dependent, how they gonna survive in today’s world without u

You need not think about Ukraine citizens like this bro suggested, india is at bottom of happiness index, so you know that almost everyone is unhappy, but dying makes a lot of people around you unhappy. It’s quite selfish to make a lot of people unhappy just to escape your unhappiness. I once ran away from home and caused a lot of misery to a loving family, that really opened my eyes. One can’t open their eyes to what they cause around after they die.

No idea about the best psychologist. Just google about a psychologist near your place n take an appointment. If I were there at your place I would have accompanied you. 🙂🙏 It’s a disease and treatment plans are there.

The tragedy of being clinically depressed for a long time is very underrated but potentially fatal. Under a normal situation people go to lonely places for a vacation. But depressed people with suicidal tendency might choose a lonely place to cause  self harm. Perspective changes radically. 😞😭

I think you mean a Psychiatrist and not a Psychologist. Just Google for the same in your area and you will find one easily. You can also opt for online consultations. If you seriously think that your life is in danger and are having suicidal tendencies then you should seek clinical help for sure.

People generally think that people can come out of depression with some positive changes in lifestyle, but it’s not true. The depressed person can’t muster even enough energy and will power to do normal daily things, let alone go to park, yoga, trip etc.

Even if we talk about the depression with our closed ones and they understand, that won’t solve it as the hormonal imbalance caused by clinical depression would still be the same, and you’d be back to your depressed self.

Only talking to a phychologist and following prescribed medication will help in case of long term depression. And taking medication will start to show effects within few days and you’ll start to feel the difference. So don’t wait further and get yourself an appointment asap.

Life is all about sweet and sour, if you expect only sweetness in ur life its your mistake, you need to feel the essence of sour as well. It not only helps you to become strong, but it helps you to lead your family in happy way in future. I have very big issues, but i never share it with anyone.

I follow simple funda 1) never think about yesterday whatsoever it is 2) think what you can do today with things you have in hand.

Again tomorrow, 1 & 2 gets repeated.

Very well said and 100% . I have live case of this in my own house.

My mother is suffering from Depression, Schizophrenia, Bipolar etc. for a long time. These are medical conditions and cannot be resolved with just discussion /  watching / reading motivational movies / books etc. It can help a little but nothing much. It is very very difficult to handle such persons. Medical treatment is necessary but sometime ( mostly ) it makes very bad effects on the daily life. We took her to IHBAS, private doctors etc. etc. but it didn’t help. In fact, it made her life worse. She got bed ridden. Than we changed doctors but this also couldn’t solve the problem. Her illness was very old. Her age is 70+ Father expired about 2.5 years ago. 

Her mental situation was getting worse day by day. 20 days ago she consumed poison. We immediately took her to hospital. She is still in the hospital .. kidney failed, water in stomach and lungs. 

I would request everybody to start treating depression and such mental conditions as early as possible. Things start getting very difficult as the time passes.

There is a whole class of antidepressant medication, ssri’s, snri’s and modern ones too, why resort to alcohol, which in itself becomes an additional problem later.
A psychiatrist can advise something definitely better than alcohol.

No matter how much you google, it can’t make you a doctor else thousands wouldn’t be risking their lives in Ukraine. There is even side effect by breathing air in Delhi-NCR.

Agree with the addiction part (Definitely helps*) but can opt for better choices in this regard (Something like work/gym addiction which might turn out to be personally/professionally useful). Alcohol, over-eating, video games & even online shopping (did the job for me*) they all help by keeping the mind busy / diverted from the current crisis (for the meantime at least) but i think its also important to make sure that these counter-addictions won’t demand support/attention in the future

my two cents from my personal thought process and understanding, treating something is only possible when it is diagnosed properly.
Either we have a bunch of people who name their common day-to-day living as struggle and call it depression which we as the society, ignore it!!
Or, for actual depression cases, we again debunk it as a so-called r-rona, because we do not know what actual depression and pain is!

Problem is that we are becoming less empathetic and sensitive at times and ignore early signs and this, in turn, causes misdiagnosis.
We as a person need to be more in sync with our emotions and then only we could relate and understand others and their pain.

PS: this might be just some random thought I have on this topic and not directed to anyone.

For OP, I think there are a few very good suggestions already mentioned.
what I can say is just talk to ur close friends, alcohol or not, up to u, but talking is necessary, and talk to some sensible friend, not the loudmouths, please!
Visiting a doc is good as I have seen in the case of a few of my friends and the doc had given them anti-depressants as well which had actually helped them.

Also, please please keep away from social media of any sort. its a big sham out there.

I fully agree with you. Family structure has changed a lot in last 30-40 years. We now have more nuclear families and very less join families. Everybody is busy with their own work / jobs etc. People are becoming less sensitive now. Koi kissi ke chakkar main nahin padna chahta. At times, I also feel lonely… my circle is toooooooooo small sad

In my mother’s case, when I connect the dots, I feel that the problem is even before my birth. When I was about 12 years old, she tried fasting for 40 days… without eating / drinking anything. When she was forced by relatives and asked why is she doing this, she said, Baba Ji told to fast… she might be Schizophrenic by that time. It is very difficult to resolve this old problem sad

not to make this a religious conversation, but this babaji situation has ruined a lot of lives.
For your case, being there and helping her at each step of life is the only thing that I can think of, I pray for ur mother’s wellness.
