any idea why?

They do not offer Data Only Prepaid Plans. Only Jio and Vi has data only plans.
Don't expect any sensibility from the self-proclaimed "premium" operator.

Anyways, Data Packages are required without any daily cap of 1GB/2GB/etc. So this one is also of no use. i.e. 50 GB / 100 GB / etc.
Check Jio/Vi , you will find these plans, I am using them since many years now.

Vi 298 & 418 packs work without the need for any validity pack.

Just check by going in to the recharge section and put your number there.

Yes, It has WFH Pack and Football Pack.

I have one Jio SIM whose validity is already expired. Tried to recharge the SIM from Jio app. None of the above packs were shown for recharge. So definitely, these packs will not work without a base validity pack.

@Rajkotian may be they have changed this recently.
Anyway, I switched to Vi some months back as VI 418 WFH gives 100 GB for 56 days with unused data roll over benefits.

It was confirmed by some dimers months back that the 181 pack at least was a standalone pack. This is the main reason why I finally decided to port one of my most used nos. to Jio as Vi's 12GB 118 pack wasn't sufficient plus it's terrible 4G coverage while travelling compared to Jio's which is very good in my experience. Need to have at least one Jio SIM.

Can we send and receive SMS and Calls for this pack.

At my location Vi gives better speeds than Jio for normal 4G. For 2CA, Jio gives better speeds.
And as indicated, for my SIM with expired validity, these packs are not showing at the time of recharge.
panchabhut wrote:Vi is by far the fastest operator in my locality as well despite no CA unlike Jio and Airtel and only B3 coverage. Unfortunately just over a km away 4G coverage almost totally vanishes at times. With Vi joining Airtel in disabling usage of main balance for UL data packs I decided it was time to change. Accordingly got Jio Fiber installed last month and will switch to Jio Prepaid SIM in the next few months. I have had enough of AVOID's tyranny. Total of 10k balances across AVOID SIMs but I am no longer bothered if they lapse. At my location Vi gives better speeds than Jio for normal 4G. For 2CA, Jio gives better speeds.
