its not just india but even if u watch hollywood movies/tv series/anime from 90s or 80s which are even not in 4K /bluray they look far far better in cd/dvd qualityv, they go in slow pace with considerable time for each character even the girls and scenes look far more beautifull
is this with me or all

arey itna bhi purana nahi , i think the peak was in 90s when the remix video were there, bollywood now without any genuity tries to copy that era in movies fail
That's why we call them classic 😘.
Back then, emphasis was on lyrics with music added as background support, unlike today where the sound (beats) are composed first and lyrics are added as an afterthought!
They probably didn't have as much formulas to create stuff like movies, music as they do now
They only could use their skills to create the best stuff possible.
There's also nostalgia because it's a simple fact that people like stuff from when they're young more than the current one because those years laid their foundation.
At least that's what I can think of.
no it s not nostalgia its some thing else called anemoia=Nostalgia for a time or a place one has never known.
Like when we watch some old cable show , (i didnt had cable tv in 90s ) we feel much better connected with it , or even some other countries old show or from hollywood (they make rerun though on english channel)
We only appreciate and have to aceept it was much much better then these days crap there was something in those era espicially in music and all which is missing gtoday
see this video is from the MTV very first day launch in USA in 1981 , its so full of vibe and lively, there is no way anyone has viewed this in india in 1981
This is change and IT WILL pass too:) TO AGAIN REPEAT
this is what every iteration of cycle of people say:)
1) "this" generation says "old" is better
2) "old" generation says even "older music" is beterr
3) "even older" generation says "older older music" is better
CYCLE REPEAT
Esi koi baat nhi h, bs nostalgic feel hota h old song sun k.

Main thing is lyrics . Right now they are biryani of english, urdu, hindi, spanish, etc etc which don't struck the heart.
pehle ye paki english gaane se lyrics aur beat chori kar lete the a internet se wo pakde jaate ha , to naya kuch nahi mil raha bus hai kabhi purane gaane ki remix kabhi kuch punjabi i think same goes with movies too , now with all netflix and streaming people directly watch the original , i know bollywood is failed but hollywood too these days seems run out of ideas ,

Before they wanted to show creativity. Now they wanted to show business.
Earlier prominent poet from hindi and urdu literature were hired as song writer, now a days road standard people are writing song for movies. The difference is obvious.
There's definitely an element of nostalgia - we always like stuff from the past when we were growing up - we like to look at the past 'golden times'. (Sounds a lot like Trump and MAGA!)
But also like others said
Music was done by people who had undergone classical music training - and this was done in conjunction with the song writer
Songs were situation specific - most modern songs are done for showcasing an actor's 'dancing skills' or to create a big spectacle by spending a few crores or for highlighting some European country or as a mandatory item song to titillate audience
Songs were written by poets or classical song composers and written in pure language form - not adding other language words just for the sake of it
Low on beats and a hundred separate tracks with special mixing effects but emphasis on singers
Resource kam hote hain samay ke sath.. in future we will go on bullacrt.. then will say in past there were aeroplane.. sari kimd ki muhhabat ho chuki hai gane me.. ab naya kaha se laye scripts xd
western music influence in new songs destoryed heart and soul just became something else. songs lyrics lost traditional & cultural meanings rather became vulgur/ meaning less words just written as per tune.
you still see good songs in SS Rajamouli movies(like Bahubali kanha soja zara song) or any classical musical director movies with good classical taste directors.
Between What we like is what they produce. Even it is mistake of new generation who likes western music with vulgur double meaning words / words literally has no meaning.
One and only one reason Audiance
I agree that early 80's till late 90's was the peak time for good music, all genre and languages.
I wonder how may of gen-z's listen to music produced well before they were born. Our generation did and still do while listening to new songs as well. E.g. Md. Rafi passed away before some of us were born or got to an age to understand music but we still listen to and enjoy his songs. Ask gen-z's if they know who is S. P. Balasubrahmanyam or for that matter Udit Narayan!!
I think this is a phase and it will pass too just like Himesh Reshmiya or Yo Yo Honey Singh's phase passed. Current phase is 'quick hits - listen couple of times and move on to next one'.
I still and equally listen to Indian Classical, Heavy Metal, R&B, Country, Rap, Classic/Pop/Soft Rock, Soul etc etc.
With that, I would leave link to following classic live from Pt. Bhimsen Joshi.
Note :We still have good songs this side of 2020. But the are far and few.
Hume nh pata, bs aj bhi dekh ke maza ata h, barish ka mausam ho, hath me chai pakoda, aur sadabahaar purani filme, aa-haa, i have zee classic channel on my favourite list, just two days ago i watched "dev-hema ji" "joshila" , what a movie and songs...❤️
Listen to Kannada songs. The past decade's songs have been amazing. The best lyrics and music have been coming in Kannada and I listen to all language songs and not just hindi or English.
with recent bangalore for kannada only thing ,...
-I am north indian and do not plan to ever ever ever come to banglaore /karnataka ever so that that kannada push may not be applied on me, so please save me from ever ever listening anything kannada
Back then, people had good taste in music, and only quality songs were appreciated, which encouraged creators to make great music. But now, in all the buzz, the impact is short-lived, and no more effort is put into making something good and hence the deterioration..
Don't know why everyone says this, there are good and bad songs even now and even in past also... Not all old songs are good ..
-for song , the original sounded better eg tauba tauba by kailash kher, also they were filmed better eg. remix pop of 90s
-for movies see the twilight zone of 1951 black and white even its intro , it is better then black mirror episods, the back to future triloogy is better then any modern day time travel movie , basic instinct ,melena were far more appeal . even for anime watch old cartoon of ducktales, spiderman, talespin, even much older like loonely tunes , older simpson episode from 90s, the list is endless all points to same fact
-
also is it not strange that if u now search for tauba tauba song u will get only new one
-if u go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_rec... and search for tauba tauba you wont find it
-now once someone complain and its removed from youtube its goen
-also for 90s anime.. i didnt watched originally but now when i watch old anime they seems so much better then what crap is today
- like this i remmeber some song featuring avika gaur or like her some girl in traffic on scooty , and now not able to find it its like removed from internet , like some Chirunama Thana Chirunama scooty scene
-we all are getting old , the point is not that
-the point is movie and shows back when we were not even born like the twilight zone 1951, i dream of genie 1965 are better then todays crap
