Why don't we recieve SMS when connected to WiFi?

This is a strange thing i have noticed. That i have to switch off WiFi to receive OTP on SMS.
Do you also face this issue? What is the resolution?

Faced same issue....check in settings
Turn WIFI calling off and use mobile data for calling
Worked for me

Turning off WiFi calling significantly decreases call quality, so don't want to do that.

never had this issue in any MIUI phones i am using. Atleast 6-7 phones which has miui in home.

I haven't faced this issue in my Poco F4 which is my first device where Vi VoWifi works. That too running stock MIUI (13). In case of Airtel or Jio no issues in my Poco F1 as well.
