VLC is good but uses software encoding more often than hardware encoding
Kodi is the best video player for Android TV but not available for Tizen (OP’s TV OS)
Alternatively you can give a try to MX player also
Rename the video to .mp4 from .mkv
This will work
Tried not working
Check mkv
Is it x264 or x265 coding for mkv file
If you have an old TV, It probably does not have built-in support for playing MKV container files encoded with x265 codec. Try to convert the video file to commonly used MP4 format with any converter application available on the internet.
OK thanks will try ☺
If you have an old tv then default tv os supports limited codecs and video formats.
Go to samsung website and search your tv model. It should be listed there which formats of video your tv supports.
Then download your movies/content in supported format only.
Most likely simple MP4 with aac audio should work. Give them a try.
And your tv won’t support x265 hevc videos so stick to x264 vidoes only.
Unless mentioned x265 specifically you can assume the video file is x264.
the default video player may not have the required codecs.
If its a smart tv, download VLC and it should play fine.
