They have made sure no one else can enter now without big pockets. Only Adani now can do it and probably no one else has the pockets or the guts to do it.

It’s called nexus between ruling party and corporate. Only Indian player can enter with deep pocket, and you know who are those😁.

There will be no new operators in many many years and price will be double in next 4 years for sure, only virtual operators can be a reality one day maybe

I heard Adani is also ready to chime in. Infrastructure and operating cost is pretty high so weak hands can't sustain long in this field pensive

No need of new telecom operators as like other countries we already  have 4 telecom operators for competition. Earlier there are dozens of operators exist but problem  is that other than idea, vodafone, airtel, bsnl none of them willing to provide coverage in rural areas they just buy and hoard the spectrum for entire state but only give service to cities eg: docomo 3g and aircel 3g has service only in cities but they bought spectrum for the entire state leaving only one big operator like idea have monopoly in the entire state. What we need dozens of low cost mvnos

Aircel did. They had the best coverage in north east , including remote areas. Customer service was excellent too.

Accha hai kam se kam network toh aa raha hai. I had bsnl postpaid in starting. Per month bill used to be 2000 plus. Used to go to telephone exchange head and request him to waive off unnecessary charges levied. 50% discount ho jaata tha kabhi kabhar. Lekin kabhi kabhi timanjale pe bhi chadd jaao tab bhi network nahin aata tha. Ab kam se kam network bhi hai, aur sasta bhi hai per month

Because Chinese companies are spooked due to Chinese govt constantly trying to occupy Indian lands.

This means they won't be given the same freedom that they used to get before.

First you need to understand Spectrum is limited.

Earlier, we used only 2G service for calls and sms only and GPRS/EDGE (or EVDO for CDMA) for Internet services.

Now we are entered in 4G and 5G Era, 4G and 5G required more and more spectrum to provide high speed Internet.

Earlier, 2.5Mhz to 5Mhz spectrum is enough for 2G and 2G Internet services.

Now 4G and 5G services required minimum 10Mhz to 15Mhz spectrum to provide high speed internet that too in multiple bands.

Maximum we have only 20Mhz to 60Mhz spectrum in all bands.

There is no room left for 5th or 6th telecom companies.

But ofcourse, If you have big pocket then you can replace any one telecom company but even then once again there will be 3 to 4 telecom companies.
