Won't ICICI Bank Help me ? :(

Hi Dimers,

Hope you guys are doing well.

So last month somehow i short paid 5500rs in my Icici cc statement. The total due amt was 34.5k (I made txns amounting to 14xxx,5.5k and 9.5k approx) don't know how the remaining 5.5k was missed from my end (still can't get over this thing). I've made more than 200 payments on several portals but never ever defaulted any single payment and now they've levied 2025rs (including 18% GST) in my current statement.

I was about to pay my current Icici due and when i checked my statement i got to know this yesterday and post my calculation got to know the entire scenario.

I called up their cc today and explained what exactly happened and told my relationship with Icici as well which was pretty much evident (Having 6 digit credit limit and maintaining them is a tough job but this time i failed miserably to pay the entire amount) but the rep as well their manager was like per their policy really can't do anything. If this was around 500 bucks i wouldn't even have called them and wasted MY time but still i did not get any positive response.

Have they already reported this to CIBIL? Will it drop in the coming months?

9th December was the due date to settle my dues for this month and i've paid everything except the interest and gst charged by them as of now.

Once again, i'll visit my Icici branch tomorrow and request the manager to do something post that if nothing happens will pay it out and learn my lesson. The more the cards you owe the more the stress you have....

Good old days are vanishing where you only had one thing in mind - ENJOY your life but now you need to take care of your fam, yourself, your job, your boss and your LIFE too...

Has any dimer had any good experience with their customer care for cc bill payments? Or is there any other way out as well?
Please let me know

TIA folks.

Use CRED, the reminders are useful.

Quick Update - I visited my nearest branch and spoke with the manager in charge and explained the whole case. Initially. she was also like "This is beyond my reach/not possible" and later on when i again forced and told her about my relationship with my bank she agreed to receive my application in writing citing the whole case. She told me she will try to get it reversed but can't assure you anything on this since CC is completely a different dept altogether.

Let me again wait for few more days and see what happens next. I was about to write to their nodal officer as well but will only proceed if they again cite me with the same reason. Anyways, i've paid their charges and GST as well from my end yesterday itself (3rd day from my due date which was 9th dec)

Another issue which happened with my yesterday
I received about 5-6 calls from different landline nos (i did not knew who's calling plus i was busy with some work) so did not pick any calls. I am even afraid to pick unknown calls after this thread - https://www.desidime.com/discussions/no-otps-as.... Later on, on truecaller i came to know it was from HDFC RM and that caught me thinking and later on checked if i've paid my HDFC cc bill too (Cred shows it was settled within few seconds on 9th itself. Did not short pay anything here)

When i opened my netbanking tab and checked all my cc logs i got to know that HDFC hasn't received this payment yet plus they've even charged me as their late fees + GST and i was like what the.........

This has never ever happened with me on Cred but as soon as i got to know i tried contacted them on social media platforms. Hoping that Cred cc will contact me today and also my RM to address this issue. Reversing this amount shouldn't be an issue for my RM now i suppose considering the link i've with them as well.

I am already stressed out with many things and then these issues are just creating more chaos to everything sad

If you have multiple credit cards, it’s common to forget when a payment is due. Keeping track of due dates for numerous credit card payments, each month, can be challenging. If you have forgotten to make a credit card payment on time, don’t freak out. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has instructed banks and credit card issuers that they may only impose late penalties three days after a payment is missed.

The RBI stated in the Master Direction - Credit Card and Debit Card - Issuance and Conduct Directions, 2022, which was published on April 21, 2022: “Card-issuers shall report a credit card account as past due to credit information companies (CICs) or levy penal charges, viz. late payment charges and fees." If you have forgotten to pay your credit card dues on time, you can do so within three days of the deadline — without incurring late payment fees. Also, if you completed your payments within the designated time frame, it’s unlikely that your credit score would be impacte

If the credit cardholder doesn’t pay their debts even after three days, a late payment fee will be imposed. The next billing cycle usually includes the late fee. The amount of late payment penalties is determined by banks or credit card companies

check this and point out to them and get your charges waived

I somehow ended up shortpaying my bill by 100 some change  rs. For this amount they charged me 1000 rs + gst finance charges

I pay my credit card bills by cred so I don't know how this happened. So I called customer care they said we will only waive off 550 rs, I requested to escalate and have supervisor call me. But eventually the supervisor also didn't have authority. She was rude. I accepted my fate and let go. Had to pay 450 + charges for shortpaying by 100. Have salary, fixed and recurring deposits with them btw.

AFAIK, they charge you on the complete cc bill and not on the short pay amount.

I remember on my first credit card I think or 2nd dont remember, I though I was getting due amount in physical form via mail. Didnt know much about credit card then and waited till 2nd month and in app I realised I was charged  500 +gst for late fee on hdfc card.called customer care explained that I didnt know I would get statement on email u guys didnt inform me, then she waived off the late fee. No more missed payments  since then. Get all my card statement on one email.every month cred picks it up and keeps inform me about due date and all. I pay ,check payment credit in card acct and done.

Any update from ICICI?

I also missed my credit card bill payment for Dec-22. It all happened because I have two ICICI cards. I wrongly did payment on Coral card instead of ICICI Amazon Pay. Now there is late fees of 500 + Interest 1122 excluding 18%GST.

Learned my lesson and moved on since it was my mistake.
If it was any other bank cc this request should have been considered....
