I have a Kotak Zen Credit card LTF.. pretty decent. Limit is ~1.5L
Opened a HDFC account in Aug.. Started getting mails for a pre-approved moneyback+ card a few days back.. I wouldve taken a Millennia, but not getting that now.. The pre-approved limit is 85k which might be the issue.. I guess Millennia is 1L+
How does HDFC work? Will I get offers for a slightly higher limit card in a few months? Or do I take the moneyback+ and hope for a limit increase/upgrade down the line.. The problem with the second option is I dont know if I'll be using the Moneyback+ card all that much.. Maybe for Amazon, but everywhere else, the Kotak card has better cashback ..Will I get an limit enhancement even if I dont use the card much?

I did this mistake of taking preapproved moneyback, Now I'm stuck with this useless card since last year with 0 usage and occasional limit upgrades.
No CC upgrade offer.

Ah. I thought for some reason Millennia needed a 1L min limit.. Guess i was wrong..
So the limit isnt the issue.. Guess I'll wait a month to see if I get a millennia as a new offer.. if not, might consider getting the Moneyback+..

They rejected my Millennia but gave me preapproved LTF 1.9L limit Business MoneyBack 🤦🏻♂️I have taken it. Will upgrade it to Millennia after few months. Only relief is limit shouldn't be a problem.
Btw @karandutta how's the Kotak Zen CC for rewards or cashbacks? Which is Kotak's best CC in fact?

I had the Royale Signature from Kotak.. only got it as it was pre-approved and free. Pretty basic. 0.33/0.66% cashback ..
Upgraded to Zen mostly because it offered a priority pass with international lounge access.. Wanted a card with that..
The reward rates are fine for a LTF card.. 0.83 / 1.66 % depending on category ..
My Broadband recharge got 0.83 but gift cards from paytm/az got 1.66 .. booked flight tickets from MMT and that was 1.66% as well..
Pretty meh milestone benefits.. 7500 points (rs1875) on 3L spends.. so net cashback would be around 2% if you hit that.. Was LTF and had a priority pass , so easy upgrade.. but there are better cards from other banks with better reward rates or spend based cashbacks. Something like a Millennia will give 5% on Amazon/flipkart .. so that's of interest.
Kotak has started offering some good deals /discounts with various sites now.. so a useful card to have even if I get a better card going forward.
Kotaks most premium card is the White card.. but that's more lifestyle benefits.. cashback/valueback is not that impressive..
I think the Zen is the card below that.
edit: worth mentioning.. both the Royale and this are Visa Signature cards as well.. and while Signature cards are pretty common, a LTF is pretty handy. Booked movie tickets on BMS and got 50% (1+1 essentially) .. can use it every month..

I don't have a time line.. Got this in about exactly 5 months. I just made this my primary account.. all transactions (upi) went through this. others through my other CC which was paid using hdfc debit card .. so basically all spends through this.
there was no new banner in the offers section.. just decided to check what card I had approved using their portal . it was showing Millennia with 1.5L limit .. (up from 85k moneyback+) .. I started getting mails/banner for Millennia after I had applied.
i am still getting banner for the old Moneyback + .. I received the card and have already started using it. It'll probably stop in a few days/weeks.
Did nothing really.. just randomly checked Apply Online for a Pre-Approved Credit Card | HDFC Bank and it was there. try your luck
