For poco f1

for many devices it is 599-699, poco f1 seems to be excluded
Sold my phone in February due to battery issue. Now regretting
Battery Replacement cost came down to ~1300 now compared to 4k at that time, in service centres.
Any notification or posters of this offer/program??
what’s process?
Can we purchase just the battery? Install later when needed.

No. Also your original battery will not be returned. Since the replacement battery is only warranted for 3 months it might not be a good idea to store for future use without testing thoroughly anyway.

My father recently replaced battery for poco f1.
It was not that expensive.
Can’t remember what was the price but it was like 600-700.

Which device? My F1 fared the worst in this aspect down to 80% after 20 months and 65% after 33 months . Best is Redmi 3s at 80% after 5.5 years but not used actively after 3.5 years. Redmi Note 3 is at 75% after 5+ years of serving as a primary device. I keep all my devices in the 25-80% range. Only difference was I couldn’t enable bypass charging in case of F1 until a year ago.

Max pro m1
Oh yes , needed this very much. Batteries don’t hold up these days if you play games
If we get battery replaced from authorized service center does it have any visible dents on the frame?
Asking because it might be an issue if we plan to get it exchanged later

bypass charging? Can we do it in all the smart phones?
Bought Sunkoda brand battery from Telegram Group few day ago @ 980 + 50 shipping.
changed myself. Its working as good as original new.

Unfortunately no.The kernel is the most important factor besides hardware support by default. Root is mandatory. Although in some ROMs it can be done via Permissive SELinux in lieu of root. I guess the former is as big a potential security concern. Even in F1 after switching to A12 enabling bypass charging wasn’t as straightforward as in A10/11.

ohh, i thought it must be easy like laptops, in Samsung phones charging can be restricted to 85% and if we use while keeping charger plugged wont it work directly on power after it reaches 85%

No idea about Samsung devices. Even when rooted they fare pretty poorly in this regard as per the developer of Advanced Charging Controller module. Check it yourself if it works or not. In older Redmi devices just limiting charging to any arbitrary percentage was sufficient to trigger bypass charging whereas in F1 this approach didn’t work and required limited the maximum charging voltage instead.

I have seen folks on Reddit reporting in excess of 80% battery health after 900 charge cycles in case of Samsung flagships which is very good although it pales in comparison to the claimed 1600 cycles till 80% health for Oppo and recently Realme despite crazy fast charging speeds. Apple and high-end Samsung devices seem to fare quite well when it comes to battery longevity out of the box. Still bypass charging is beneficial in case of very heavy usage over the years.

Poco F1 showing 1999
My battery died

1. 80% charge is enough for 1 day of my use
2. It takes huge extra time to charge last 20% so not worth it
