Introducing New Forum Design for All Users

Hey guys,
We are completely re-vamping the Forum design on Desktop and M-site after around 5 to 6 years… Its one of the major change which will get rolled out to you in next couple of hours…
Why such a big change suddenly?
To be very frank, its not a sudden change and we have ourselves used the new layout/design for past 1.5 months before rolling out to all… And yes we have been contemplating such a change from a long time…
The forum page in its current form was very unhelpful for New Dimers or new visitors to the website… With around 8-9 sticky, the sub-forums etc.. all the real deals were very much down and was lot of inconvenience for New Dimers to figure out the deals.
Also many never figured out how to see Latest deals in forums etc.. So we are hoping the new design will solve some of the pressing UX problems.
Why no votes? Why only hotness?
Over the last one year, we have worked a lot on Hotness algorithm and we will continue to evolve it to push better and better deals up the chain irrespective of simply “votes”
In current Forum page, 5 green smileys would show up even for deal having 40 votes vs one having 6 votes… It was never intuitive enough to understand the hotness of the deal..
With hotness, we are trying our best to automatically show the best deals on very top and Hotness currently is not depndent on what your “best friend” in the community thinks.. it considers clicks, views and much more…
While moving away from smileys may feel a bit odd, you will strongly feel the difference after few days or a week.

Easier switching of Forums
We understand many users would like to switch between forums and we have tried it to make it as much easier as we can.
Improved Search
If you are searching for deals, you wont find discussion clutter when looking for deals.
Choose your layout and it applies site-wide
If you prefer to see deals in a Grid format, simply select that layout and same layout will apply in Home page, Forum page, Search page etc..
If you prefer a less image heavy Text layout, We have got you covered too.
Hope you guys enjoy the change… While it may become slightly difficult initially (specially for hard core users out there), We can assure you that you will appreciate the change as time passes by

DD already ruined their app with an update (old one was fine) So I stopped using it. Now they ruined the website. If I was admin, I would fire that guy whoever is messing with design. REVERT BACK TO OLD DESIGN, YOU FOOL!
New layout sucks. Please revert to older one.
Admins should better provide both Vote system and hotness.
All negative comments but still hotness is 1300+.

98% people seem to absolutely hate new design. You really wanna shove this worst design down our throats, @admin? New design looks like website for kids. This is retarded bro. Not the smart move.
My only request would be kindly give it a try for a week… 
We used it overselves for more than 45 days now (internally all admin team) before we rolled out to you guys… Initially we also faced same frustration as you guys but we got used to it very fast… And we are confident it will get better in coming days..
Yeah, you all tried for 45 days and got used to the crappy design. Bring back the smileys. It worked much better than the failed “improved hotness algorithm.” All the popular dimers who regularly posts good deals here on DD seem to absolutely hate it. They are the ones keeping this forum alive. Would you listen to these guys or “admins” who never posts anything but worthless threads like this which severs no good purpose? If you’re bored you could spend your time and energy on more productive things. Why do you have to ruin an already good design for everybody?
I can’t stand this new design even for a minute. Fellow dimers, please PM me a similar website that doesn’t suck. I’ll meet the family there.
Microsoft also did the same thing with their Vista OS by ruining everything that worked perfectly fine in XP. That DID NOT end up so well for them. I don’t think it will for you. @admin@@ Don’t think people will get used to it automatically. More they hate, more they try to find alternative websites. You’re giving more power to competition. This move is suicidal.
For a minute I thought I landed on some other website. The new layout is so yukk, not good at all. You may revert back.
I am not liking this new design. All deals (good and bad) are looking similar. Hotness is not as expressive as votes. Please give option to enable old layout.
I can literally pay somewhere to get the old look back. Thank you very much, but this new design is incredibly horrible.

@admin will be nice to have a button or something to take to first unread or last page directly, in mobile mode. Specially for threads with lots of replies and contests.

Another suggestion is to make complete forum available in toggle mode may be instead of “Sticky” which will solve a lot of criticism about ease of surfing as was in old design and finding desired deals, loota etc easily. Shuffling from New to Hot to Discussed is confusing, time consuming. Normally, say in Dost and Dimes section and 1 or 2 theards of Hot Deals, Sticky are not much used.
Too much of white/blank space in the main page of the any forum such as Hot deals. I have to scroll down a lot to get enough deals viewed whereas it was a much more consolidated and precise view before.

The moment you get used to the interface, there is a new roll out
Few Bugs In New App : Search not working properly.
Chat showing old msg first, new msges are above old msg.
Many times showing error once we post new deal.
One sentence – Didn’t like the new desktop UI at all
the new design is very distractive and difficult to navigate !
in the old design i could easily go through th entire page in 5-10 seconds but here there are lots of images and scrolling down for next page is also an hassle so kindly
revert back to old design asap or add provision to switch to old design !
It’s very very confusing! Earlier it was way easier to understand the recent topic, now where that would be found?
Or is it like that when new topic is posted, will be categorised in New section, and the further discussions on that topic would be found in discussed section?
Yes new deals will be under new tab
Recently commented and new deals will also show up under discussed tab (just like main forum page before)
I cant find any deals search do fix sir what to do how to know about that if someone post before searching not working looks like
Are you facing that issue on m-site?
To be very honest, the new layout is terrible. The old one was much better! It was easy to find something; now it’s just a clustered among each other.. appreciate the other changes like search and all.

An option to get old style is needed, as this new style is very confusing.
