This banner added on DesiDime is wrong. We are celebrating the 76th Independence Day.
75 years of independence have been completed. Hence, it is the 75th anniversary of independence and the 76th Independence Day.
It should be corrected as soon as possible and more care should be taken to avoid such errors in the future.

if you are born in 2017, then in 2018, it will be your 1st birth anniversary and 2nd birthday (because your first birthday was on the day when you were born in 2017).
Birthday and birth anniversary have different meanings.
The same goes for any other event like Independence day.
1947,1948,1949=3 years
1950~2020=70 years
2021,2022= 2 years
In total 75 years. I still don't understand how is it 76th!
Guys please shed some lights on my logic. Am I missing something. If I am born on 1990 Jan 1st then on 2022 Jan 1st i ll be 32 years old. From 2nd Jan onwards I will be 32+ years old. Right!

@Chudiya @bikidas2060
76th Independence Day = 75th Anniversary of independence
33rd birthday = 32nd birth anniversary
If you still think that I'm wrong, you do a simple google search or read the tweets of the government. Attaching some screenshots for your reference:
Bhai, I am not telling you that you are wrong. It's just I am unable to understand the logic. 😔😔😔 I ll think about it..
@jatinag22 is right. Today is 76th Independence Day and 75th Anniversary of Independence day.
Baat khatam, no comment.
Modi g ney kounsa bola hey... wo hi sahi hey
1947 to 1950 =4 times
1951 to 1960 = 10
1961 to 1970 =10
1971 to 2000= 30
2021 to 2022= 2
Total 76th independence day but 75th anivaresary..
It depends on how one convinces themselves.
Say if you are born on 1/1/2017, would your parents celebrate 1/1/2018 as your second birthday or your first birthday?
(For the sake of the argument, there is an assumption that the parents celebrate tgeir kid's birthdays).
If they celebrate 1/1/2018 as the second birthday, then in 2022 they would celebrate it as your sixth birthday.
If they instead celebrate your first birthday in 2018, then on 1/1/2022 they would be celebrating your fifth birthday.
Interpolate this to 1947 instead of 2017.
And a country, instead of you.
