Hi guys,

I would like to buy a Notebook with i7 processor and i’ve found a model that is excellent but its an imported notebook from thailand with 2 years international warranty. Its avaialable from both ebay and Shopclues but prices are different.

Link: http://www.shopclues.com/asus-k450jn-wx019d-cor…

Its 47k in Shopclues and 45k from Ebay. But i can get 4k in cluebucks so its less than ebay. I’m worried about shopclues refund policy in worst case. Is shopclues trustable for this 45k transaction? Do they have good refund/return policy? How long they will take to issue cluebucks.

Thanks

The seller from shopclues you mentioned seems to be selling imported laptops in ebay too. Although some of the asus models and lenovo do seem to come with international warranty but i would not really rely on it since these laptops seems to be a parallel import and the final say on honoring warranty would always lay with the manufacturer and in this case you may not get manufacturer warranty since it’s a parallel import product. Although some brands like lenovo do advertise about international warranty however in-order to avail the same lots of supporting documents needs to be provided .AFAIK Incase of lenovo one needs to produce the purchase bill from the import country plus visa copy. They take these measures to weed out parallel import.

Thanks for reply. I know about warranty and the seller is providing thailand bill and confirms its valid in India. The problem here is about the price which is less in Shopclues with cluebucks. Do you have any idea about shopclues and its clue bucks? Can we trust 47k transaction from shopclues?

Shoplcues is not at all recommended for high value transactions due to bad reviews and pathetic customer service. Their buyer protection is also a joke. On the other hand ebay buyer protection is decent to say the least. If you want to really buy the product i would choose ebay over shoplcues anyday. try to get some coupons on ebay which will bring the price down.

If COD is available you can take risk with shopclues. ensure that you open the package and check the contents for any damage before handing over the cash to the courier guy.

Before placing your order i would still suggest you to get in touch with Asus customer care preferably over email regarding warranty on products from thailand .

you may not get warranty…..2 years ago i purchased hp 2019tx laptop from ebay , seller provided thailand bill and assured me that hp will provide warranty…..after using for couple of months my laptop was over heating too much, called hp and raised complaint, they said we are not going provide any hardware support becoz it is imported from thailand….they said we can only provide drivers support.

Then Shopclues is fine. I dont mind about warranty at all because i need i7 CPU which is not available in India and only way is through import. This is an excellent price for an import item so its worth a chance and seller assurance of 2 years international warranty is just additional advantage. I’ll contact Asus once and confirm the warranty and then i’ll go with Shopclues COD as i dont like ebay price and no COD too. Also ebay care sucks recently as they are slow and not reliable for big transactions like this too.

What i meant ws, dont end up wasting ur precious 47000 bucks, for a mere 3000 Rs.. my suggestion : Go for a safer purchase rather than cheaper buying,, I know Every1 wants their wishlish/needs to be completed in least possible price, but quality & warranty are the terms which u cant ignore..
As Shopclues is known for their inferior products & poor cc, High End purchases are a strict NO..
Look for other option/hold ur purchase or maybe buy it a standard price but stay away from Shopclues..
I remember buying a 5600 mah power bank for rs 400, which hardly charges the phone for 10 minutes after a full charge given to it.. And seller’s So called Hassle free return time ( 10 days) passed in registering the complaints only.. I prefer this website for purchases less than Rs 200 ( Dont/cant/won’t hv faith on them anymore )
So, this website is Highly NON-recommended for such purchases..
